Baby Shopping

Ever since I found out our little peanut is a boy, all I've wanted to do is shop, shop, shop!!! Here are some things I have picked out to buy our little Jackson, but haven't been able to purchase just yet.

I had girl and boy bedding picked out and since we know we're having a boy now, this is the bedding I plan to get for him.

The car seat and stroller set I'm eying.

Matching Diaper Bag I'd like to have.

The high chair I'm liking.

The style of crib I'd like to get.

Cute Bouncer

These are the bigger things I have in mind. There are tons of smaller things I want and need. I feel slightly overwelmed by all the things I'll need before Jackson gets here. But I know we'll get it all done in time. I'm hoping to get a lot of the smaller things and maybe even some of the bigger things at my showers. :-)

I did do a little clothes shopping this past weekend and got some really cute sleepers for Jackson. Its hard to find long sleeves and pants this time of year, but Target had a lot of really cute sleepers with long sleeves. I was also able to get Jackson's whole going home outfit; hat blanket and all. :-) And Carters had the perfect little puppy blankie for him on clearance... so I bought two, just in case he would ever lose one. :-) Here's a picture of his going home outfit.

I found a different hat for him to wear that is blue and has a puppy face on it, very similar to the puppy on the bib. My mom got him some little brown puppy slippers that I think are cuter than the ones that came with the outfit, so he's going to wear those with it.

His cute little blankie!!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!!

Tonight we have our weekly bible study at church. The topic this week is, "Why would a loving God send people to hell?" Looking forward to an interesting discussion tonight.

Tomorrow I plan to do a little cleaning around the house and make room in what will soon be Jackson's closet; by packing away some of my winter clothes along with some of the clothes that I can't wear anymore due to being almost 5 months pregnant. The closets in our house are kind of small so I've been using the closet in our room as well as the closet in our spare bedroom. Now that we're having a baby, Jackson's room will be what is now the spare bedroom and he is going to need that closet for all his cute little clothes and toys. :-) So I went to Wal-Mart today on my lunch hour and bought the biggest (45 gallon) tote they sell. Then tomorrow I plan to pack away some of my clothes and clean out the closet to make room for Jackson's stuff. Luckily there is plenty of room in the unfinished part of our basement since I just re-organized it this past weekend. So now there is room for my big tote of clothes and the other misc. things I've had stored in our spare bedroom closet.

Then tomorrow afternoon I am meeting up with my mom and sister to do a little baby shopping. :-) Yay!
Sunday we have church, and then we are going to a wedding at Pere Marquette Lodge in Grafton, IL Sunday evening. It's a beautiful little resort right on the Mississippi River. Should be a lovely wedding.

The lobby of the lodge.

Monday we are probably going to have some family over for BBQ. At least thats the plan for now.

So all in all it should be a nice long weekend. I'm looking very forward to it. Only about 2 hours left here at work and then.. Let the weekend begin!!!

So what are you plans for this Memorial Day weekend??

Late Birthday Dinner

Last night I went out with my BFF Carley, her mom and her aunt Rosie for a late birthday dinner for me. We went to one of my favorite restaurants P.F. Chang's!!! It was so yummy!! Here's what I had to eat...

Fried Wantons for an appetizer.

I LOVE the Lettuce Wraps, so I had them as my main course.

Then we had to have the Banana Spring Rolls for desert!! They are pure heaven. I could honestly go there just for the banana spring rolls. :-)

We had a great time and its always fun to catch up.

The weekend went by too quickly...

I had a great long weekend!!!

I was off work Friday and my mom and I went and had our Mother's Day massage and facial. My big present for her this year for Mother's day was a massage and facial. It was wonderful!!

We then had lunch here...

After lunch we headed to the mall to do some baby clothes shopping. I found a couple cute outfits for our little Jackson. It was so fun to finally be able to shop for him now that we know he's a HE!! I bought this cute little set...

and this little onesie...

I also bought this cute little onesie, along with some matching blue and white striped pants and white tennis shoes.

Then Friday evening we had bible study. Our topic for the night was "The church is responsible for so much injustice." A very interesting topic.

Saturday I spent most of the day cleaning. Then that evening we went to dinner for my Sister-in-Law's Graduation and my nephew's 14th Birthday. Here are a few pictures from the evening.

Myself with my sister-in-law Amie (whose graduation we were celebrating) and my sister-in-law Liz.

Myself, my SIL Amie, SIL Liz and MIL Diane.

Jake and I at dinner.

Then Sunday morning we went to church. After church, Jake, my BIL Jason and my Dad all went to play golf while myself, my sister Ashlee, my nephew Landon and my Mom had lunch and did a little window shopping at Baby's R Us. We then all met back at mine and Jake's house to BBQ for dinner.

It was a great weekend! Hope you had a great weekend too.

Max doing his "Potty Dance"

This is a super cute video of our puppy Max, doing his little dance that he does when he wants to go outside. He does this EVERY time he wants to go outside. Its so cute. :-)

Its a......

.... BOY!!!!!!!

I can't believe we're having a boy. After everyone telling me they thought it was a girl, I was just so sure it was a girl. But as you'll see in the pictures, there's not really any denying it. ;-) The ultrasound showed that he's very healthy and weighs about 8 oz. They also said he's measuring right at 18 weeks, which is right on target. We are super excited. Jake and I both said we didn't really care whether it was a boy or a girl, but I know Jake really did want a boy and when she told us it was a boy, Jake was grinning from ear to ear! He told me this morning that Chiefs Nation (he's a huge K.C. Chiefs fan) just grew by another member. :-)

So without further adieu.... Jackson Thomas Smith.

18 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along: 18 Weeks

Size of Baby: The baby is around 5 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and weighs around 7 ounces. About the size of a bell pepper.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: At my 16 week appt. I had gained 6 lbs total. I've probably gained a little more in the last 2 weeks, but I'm not sure how much.

Maternity Clothes: Yes, all maternity pants and mostly maternity shirts.

Gender: We find out today!!! We have our ultrasound at 3:30!! I can't wait!! Just praying the baby cooperates. I really don't have any "feelings" one way or another of what the gender is, but everyone keeps telling me they think its a girl. The heart rate in the 160's and 170's also leads me to believe it may be a girl. Hopefully we'll find out today!!

Movement: Yes, feeling movement more and more. Its still very light, but more frequent now.

Food Cravings: No real cravings, but I am really loving icecream. :-)

What I miss: Nothing really.

Sleep: Having to get up a couple times a night to use the restroom, otherwise sleeping fine.

Symptoms: Having to use the restroom often. Other than that, no real symptoms.

Best Moment this week: Feeling the baby move more and more.

What I am looking forward to: Finding out the baby's gender later today. I can't wait!!

Today's the day....

... and I can hardly wait!! We find out whether our little peanut is a boy or a girl today at 3:30. It truly can't come soon enough. I will definitely post tonight or tomorrow morning to let you all know the exciting news.

My sister and her husband had their ultrasound yesterday and found out they are having a BOY!! So I'm going to have another nephew!! I'm so excited. I know they were wanting a girl since they already have Landon, but another boy will be fun too. Here are a couple of their ultrasound pictures...

They've chosen to name him Mason Graham Jacobs. They just liked the name Mason and Graham comes from "Grammy", who was our Grandma that just passed away last month.

Its the weekend!!!

We have a pretty busy weekend planned.

Tonight we have bible study. This 7 week session is discussing the seven biggest objections and doubts about Christianity.... Tonight's discussion is "Christianity is a Straitjacket. I am on childcare duty tonight, so I won't be in there for the discussion, but it should be a good one. :-)

Tomorrow morning we have the exterminator coming out to our house to spray for bugs since Spring has arrived and that means BUGS!!  Yuck!!  We had them come out last year and it really helped. I don't recall seeing any bugs in the house after they were done. :-) Since we have a basement, and dogs, it just seems we see more bugs than I'd care to see.

I also have to go to the DMV tomorrow morning. I just have to drop off a form and pay a small fee to get my car registered in the state of MO. Something that should have been done 4 years ago when I moved to MO. Its a long story, but I've been given the run around about it since I moved here. I was even able to renew my plates 2 years ago without having this done and noone said anything about me needing to fill out this form. Now all of a sudden its an issue!! :-( Its such a headache. I really HATE the DMV.

Then Saturday afternoon/evening we are taking Jake's mom to dinner/lunch and a movie for Mother's Day. I believe we are going to try and see "Something Borrowed". :-)

Then Sunday we are going to church, then my family is going over to help my Papa go through some of my Grammy's things. I'm really not looking forward to it, but I know its something that has to be done.

Then after that I am going to my MIL's for dinner and the Season Finale of Survivor!! Can't wait to see who wins. :-)

So its going to be a busy weekend for us... how about you??

I thought it might be kind of fun to post a baby picture of both Jake and I right around the same age, so you can get a little idea of what our little peanut might look like.
