How Far Along: 32 Weeks (7 more weeks to go!)
(You can check out my 32 week post from when I was pregnant with Jackson here.)
Size of Baby: (According to babycenter.com) 32 weeks: By now, your baby weighs 3 3/4 pounds (about the size of a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I'm not entirely sure. I had a dr. appt. last Monday, but they didn't say and I didn't ask. I'm not sure I really want to know. ;-)
Maternity Clothes: Yes, all maternity clothes and growing out of some of them. :-( I am so ready to be back in normal clothes again.
Gender: Its a GIRL, and she finally has a name!!
It was a challenge agreeing on a name for this baby. Avery Rose was a name I loved and wanted to use if we ever had a girl way back when we were trying to get pregnant with Jackson. I had 2 names picked out at that point. Jackson Thomas for a boy (who would have the same initials as Jake) and Avery Rose for a girl, (who would have the same initials as me). Jake wasn't a huge fan of the name Avery, so when we started talking about girl names again during this pregnancy, I didn't really even bring it up. However, one night while we were driving to church, Jake mentioned that he liked the name Avery (like he had come up with it on his own and I had never mentioned it before, LOL). So we added it to the list of several other names we liked. We finally had it narrowed down to Lyla Rose and Avery Rose a week or so ago. (Rose was my Great Grandmother's name and a name both Jake and I really loved for a middle name.) I loved both names, but the fact that she will have my initials with the name Avery Rose tipped the scale for us. :-)
Movement: Yes, she's moving around quite a bit now, and I love it. Her movements are getting bigger and stronger too.
Food Cravings: No real cravings this week, just really thirsty as I've been this entire pregnancy.
What I miss: Just being able to do normal things without feeling tired or out of breath. I also miss being able to wear my wedding rings, which I haven't been able to wear for quite some time now. :-(
Sleep: Not great. I'm having to get up several times a night to use the restroom and just can't seem to get comfortable sometimes.
Symptoms: A growing belly, and some sciatic nerve pain that really only seems to hurt when I over do it. I'm also having a few Braxton Hicks contractions here and there and I've also had a little bit of heartburn in the evenings. Thankfully Tums seem to be helping with that a lot. I also have a sharp, burning pain under my right ribs that I also had when I was pregnant with Jackson, but that seems to be getting better too. Just feeling big and getting to that uncomfortable stage where I'm just ready for it to be over.
Best Moment this week: Getting a majority of the furniture put together and up in Avery's nursery thanks to my Dad, Mom and Sister, and doing some decorating in her sweet room. I can't wait to see it all finished. It's looking so cute. Here's a little sneak peek of what we have done so far.

My sister recovered the chair and made the pillow in the chair. We got the side table, crib, mattress and changing pad in last week/weekend so I got that all put together (with some help). My sister also made the crib bedding so while she was over yesterday, we put that in the crib and I just love it so much!! She made the valance and we got the cutest matching rod from Hobby Lobby, so my dad got that all hung up for me yesterday as well. I made the mobile hanging over the crib on Saturday evening and my sister is in the process of finishing up the second piece of bunting that will finish up the wall above the crib. We are still waiting on the chest of drawers (which should arrive this week) and I also have some more decorating to do. I will take better pictures and do a full Nursery Reveal in detail once its all finished. :-)
What I am looking forward to: Getting her nursery all done,
my baby shower this Saturday and of course meeting her on (or before) April
28th!! :-)
