What a great weekend!!

Well the party was a big success and my mom LOVED the scrapbook that my sister and I made for her. Here are just a few pictures to show you. We all went to our favorite restaurant on Friday night (her actual birthday) and gave her the album. Then Sat. was the actual party. Thanks to all of you for your nice comments on our layouts for her album.

Today is the Day...

...that we finally get to give our Mom her scrapbook album!! We are all going out to dinner for her b-day and we're giving it to her then. Her party is tomorrow evening, but we figured she wouldn't really get to look at it there, so it would be better to give it to her tonight.

Ornament I made for my Mother in Law

This is an ornament I made for my MIL for Christmas. I got this idea from Archivers. You just take a 2x3 acrylic stamp block and a 2x3 wallet size picture. You use 2 sided tape that comes in 12x12 sheets, also purchased at Archivers. I altered the picture using Picasa and Walgreens photo to add the year and the holly leaves border. Then I just used glue dots to attach the ribbon to the block. This is a picture of our whole family that we took on Thanksgiving. Its her brother and his family, her sister and her family and then her 3 sons and their families. Thanks for looking.

More Twilight Ornaments

I was searching the cricut message-board one day last week and I found the idea of making glitter ornaments. It looked easy enough so I decided to try it. I'm very happy with the way they turned out. The website for making these ornaments is here. I just used black vinyl and the SCAL program, along with the Twilight font to make these ornaments. Thanks for looking.

Lots of pages for my mom's birthday album

I was able to get a couple days off last week and make it a 4 day weekend. So I worked on my mom's album to try and get it close to being finished. I was able to get 8 pages done!! I'm so happy to have gotten so much done. We just have a handful of pages left to do and we have a week before the party, so I'm feeling good about the fact that we'll get it done. Thanks for looking!

Family Layout for my Mom's 50th B-day album

This is a layout I finished last night for my mom's album. These are all pictures of our family. My Mom, Dad, Sister and I. They start when we are very young and go until just a couple of years ago, before my sister and I were married or had children. Thanks for looking!!

Cookie Cutter Ornaments

These are some ornaments I've made for our annual Christmas store at church. I also plan to make some more and give them as little Christmas gifts. I actually found the idea on the twopeasinabucket message board, but changed it up a bit to make it my own. All I did was take a strip of paper, just slightly skinnier than the width of the cookie cutter. I put the strip of paper through my xyron machine and then just attached it to the cookie cutter. I then tied ribbon and hot glued either bells or a little button onto the ribbon. I also tied a piece of ribbon to the top to make it easier to hang on the tree. I think they turned out so cute and were very easy to make.

Our 2009 Christmas Tree

This is our 2009 Noble Fir. Every year we go to Sullivan's Tree Farm, right down the street from our house, and pick a Noble Fir. We started this tradition the year we got married in 2007 and have carried it on every year since.

A Daughter Is...

This is another layout for my mom's 50th B-day album. It is of pictures of my mom with my sister and I. We're getting closer and closer and it still feels like we have a lot left to do. December 19th is just 3 short weeks away. I know we'll get it done one way or another, but I am once again feeling a little overwelmed.

Twilight Ornament

I was thinking the other day that I needed to try to find a Twilight Ornament, so as I was looking online, I thought I could just make my own!! So here it is... Its just a plain glass ball ornament that I bought at Michaels. They came 6 in a box so I made several and gave them as gifts to all the Twilight fans in my family at Thanksgiving yesterday!! They all loved them. I took black and red scrapbook paper and cut it into strips. I rolled the strips of paper up on a pencil and put it into the glass ball. I tied ribbon to the top of the ornament and then using SCAL and the Twilight font, I cut out the word Twilight using vinyl and the cricut. I also used some red Stickles and drew little Swirlies all around the ornament to make it "sparkle" a little bit more. I'm happy with the way they turned out. I think I'm going to make myself 4 of them, one Twilight, one New Moon, one Eclipse and one Breaking Dawn!! Thanks for looking.

Practical Scrappers Stitching Challenge

The DT Challenge over at Practical Scrappers this week was to use stitching. Once again, since I am working on my mom's 50th b-day album, I used the stitching on a layout for her book. This layout is of me, when I was a baby. I don't have a sewing machine, so I drew on my stitching. Though, I would really like to try sewing on my layouts. Thanks for looking!!

Practical Scrappers Acrylic Paint Challenge

Practical Scrappers' challenge for the week was to use Acrylic paint on a layout or card. I used it on this layout for my mom's 50th b-day album. I kinda used it as snow on a majority of the layout and then I also used it to stamp the "S" on the tree next to the picture. My parents last name is Stoffel. This is a picture of my parents at their apartment in 1980, standing in front of their Christmas tree. My mom was actually pregnant with me! Thanks for looking.
