Our 10 Year Anniversary Trip to Washington State: Day 2

As I said in my previous post, day 2 brought more surprises and I finally learned where we would be spending a majority of our trip.

We got up and had breakfast at the bed & breakfast we were staying at. Then headed out of Forks and onto Port Townsend where we loaded onto a ferry over to Whidbey Island.

Leaving Port Townsend on the Ferry.

I assumed this was where our island adventure would begin, but I was wrong. We had lunch at Alfy's Pizza on the water in Oak Harbor and then crossed the coolest bridge called Deception Pass Bridge over to Fidalgo Island. Before crossing the bridge though, Jake said we could get out and walk across the bridge. I was like, what?? It was so cool, but a little nerve wracking to say the least.

This picture shows the narrow path that you had to walk on when you were on the bridge. On one side was a fall to your death, on the other side were cars practically touching you as they drove past.

Once over on Fidalgo Island I thought, well maybe this is where we are staying... and I would be wrong again. Ha. We then drove onto a second ferry that would finally take us to our destination.

Leaving Fidalgo Island on the Ferry.

Passing another ferry along the way.

We landed on Orcas Island which happened to be where we'd be staying for the next 4 nights! It was absolutely beautiful.

We stayed at the Rosario Resort and Spa in the Cliffhouse Suite. Which you can see directly to the right of the resort when looking at it from the water.

The suite was amazing and right on the water. I couldn't have dreamed for anything better.

That night we had dinner and drinks at the Mansion Restaurant at the resort and it was so good. Right before dinner Jake had another surprise for me. Diamond earrings!! I was shocked and so happy! He picked out exactly what I would have wanted.

We had a wonderful dinner and a wonderful day!
