Jackson is 3!!

On Monday, at 2:59 a.m., Jackson turned 3 years old!! Three years ago, at that very moment, I became a mom to the most amazing little baby boy. That moment changed my life forever for the better! I can't believe that was 3 years ago. It seems like I blinked and three years went by. They have been the best three years of my life and I am so proud of the sweet boy Jackson has become. He's full of energy and can be stubborn and try my patience at times, but he can be so sweet and sensitive too and I just love him to pieces!

Monday, Jake and I both had to work, but after work Jake stopped and picked up some mini cupcakes and a bag of ring pops (Jackson's new favorite treat), and I had a present for him as well. We ordered pizza (his favorite), watched "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" (another of Jackson's new favorites) and we sang happy birthday, ate cupcakes and played with his new toy!

Today, they are celebrating his birthday at school and then this coming Sunday is his party at the Frisco Train Store. He's going to have so much fun playing with all the trains they have there with his friends and cousins. I am really looking forward to it and I know he is too.

So we are having fun celebrating Jackson this week. Three years old... I just can't believe it.

I love you sweet boy, Happy Birthday!!!!

Wordless Wednesday

My oldest baby, pushing my youngest baby in the swing in our back yard. You can tell by the smile on her face that she loves her big brother. This makes this momma's heart burst with joy. :-)

Avery's 5th Month

As of Sunday, September 28th, you are 5 months old. I know I'm really late in posting this month's update, but better late than never, right?

(Read about her first month, second month, third month and fourth month.)

I'm not actually sure what you're weighing these days but at your 4 month appt. you weighed 16 lbs. 4 ozs. so I'm assuming your up to at least 17 lbs. at this point. You are a chunker for sure!

You have learned to roll from your belly to your back (Sept. 8th) and from your back to your belly (Sept. 17th) and you do this all the time now if we lay you down on a blanket on the floor or on your play-mat! You just roll all around and sometimes get mad when you get up against a wall and can't figure out what to do next. LOL.

You are taking a 6-7 ounce bottle every 4 hours throughout the day and then you will wake up between 4-6 a.m. for another bottle during the night. You are still sleeping great, only waking just the one time in the morning for a bottle and then you go right back to sleep and usually sleep until around 8 or 9 a.m. You usually take around 3 naps a day. A short morning nap at around 10 or 11 and then a longer afternoon nap at around 12 or 1 (this nap can be anywhere from 1-2 hours) and then another short nap in the evening. You are usually ready for bed at around 9 p.m.

You are still wearing size 3 diapers and you are now wearing size 6-9 month and 9 month clothes! Such a big girl. :-)

You started eating some baby food this month and you LOVE it. There isn't anything we've tried that you haven't liked yet. You've had carrots, sweet potatoes, squash and peas and you love them all. We can't feed you fast enough.

We got you an exersaucer last month (Sept. 15th) and you love it. You love being able to stand up and see everything going on. You also love being able to watch your brother run around like a crazy person. You sometimes just laugh at him and think he is hilarious. However, you do not like when he gets in your face or holds your hand. You will sometimes get mad and scream at him. Ha.

You love to be the center of attention. In fact, you love it a little too much. I can't leave your sight without you going into a meltdown. You cry even if you think I'm going to leave when in fact, I'm just walking to the other side of the room. I love that you want me close, but this makes it very challenging to get ANYTHING done around the house. Your separation anxiety isn't just separation from me, it's just from anyone that is watching you. If you're with Maw Maw, Papa, Daddy, Grandma or Auntie Ashlee and they leave your sight, you start crying. :-( Poor baby girl, I sure hope you grow out of this soon.

You are quite close to sitting up on your own. You can keep your balance for a few seconds, but we have to be close by because you'll fall right over after a short time. But you love to sit up and I am looking forward to the day when you get this down because I think you will be so much happier once you master this skill.

As for the binkie, you still don't really take it when you are awake. You will not keep it in your mouth. In fact, as soon as we put it in, you are pulling it out! Little Stinker. At night, you really want it and fall asleep so much better with it for naps and night time, but I have to swaddle your hands to keep you from pulling it out! Crazy girl.

You still love bathtime!! You love kicking your feet and playing in your little tub. :-)
Now when I get home from work in the evening, you are so happy to see me. You can't wait for me to hold you and you just look at me and then bury your head into my neck over and over and over again. It is the sweetest thing ever and I look forward to your warm welcome every day. :-) You have also started laying your head on our shoulders if we say Awe Avery. It's just for a very short time that you lay your head down, but it's oh so sweet.

Well I think that just about covers it for your 5 month update. You are such a blessing to this family Avery. We all just adore you and love you so much.

XOXO - Mommy

Throwback Thursday

It's been 5 months since Avery has been born (I still need to get her 5 month update on the blog, I'm really slacking) and I just realized I never posted a pregnancy bump date collage of all the bump-date pictures from her pregnancy. I love that I did this so you can see my progression week after week. :-) I hope it will be something fun for both of my kids to look back on. So I thought I better make a collage and get it up on the blog. What better day than Throw-back Thursday to share it. :-)

And because I love a good comparison, here is my bump-date collage with Jackson. :-)

Cutest KC Chiefs Fans Ever!

I've posted these pictures on Facebook and Instagram, but I figured I better post them here too. :-)

It's no secret that my husband is a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan! His family is from KC and he was actually born there as well. His mom moved him and his two brothers here to St. Louis when Jake was around 2 or 3. When it comes to sports, Jake's a loyal KC fan. He always roots for the Chiefs and for the Royals! Our whole "man cave" is decorated in Chiefs decor. So when the Chiefs played Monday night football this past Monday night, it was almost like the Super Bowl for Jake. He invited a few friends/family over to watch the game and we had a little party at our house.

So since I was off work Monday, I spent the day cleaning and getting ready for our company. I also thought I'd get the kids dressed up in their Chiefs-wear and take a few pictures of them in the back yard to frame for Jake's desk at work. :-)

Avery cooperated very well and hammed it up for the camera. Jackson on the other hand, did NOT want his picture taken. As usual, he hates stopping and sitting still to have his picture taken and Monday was no different. Thankfully my parents had come over early so that my dad could look at our air conditioner that had stopped working right, (Thankfully he was able to fix it... my Dad's the best!) so my mom helped me with the kids pictures and promised Jackson some gum if he sat and took the picture. ;-) Thankfully that eventually worked and I got a couple cute shots of him too. :-)

So without further adieu... here is a collection of the cutest KC Chiefs Fans Ever!!

And my favorite of them all...

She's starting to sit up for short periods of time by herself! It's so stinkin cute and she thinks she's big stuff. My mom was right there to catch her if need be, which she had to do a couple of times. :-)
