Throw-back Thursday

Welcome back to Throw-back Thursday!

Today I thought it would be fun to share my baby bump collage from when I was pregnant with Jackson. I've shared this before, right after having Jackson, but thought I'd share it again for any new readers. :-) It will be fun to compare these pictures with this new pregnancy. :-)

Did you take weekly or monthly pictures during your pregnancy? I'd love to see your baby bump progression! Link up with #tbt and share yours, or share any old photos or memories you'd like. :-)

Welcome back to Throw-back Thursday!

This week is all about high school dances!

This first picture is from my Sophomore Homecoming Dance! I actually didn't have a boyfriend for this dance, but my 2 friends set me up with the boy I'm with in the picture for the dance. We sort of dated after that, but not for more than about a month. He did, however, end up being the first boy I ever kissed. :-)

This second picture is from my Senior Prom. The boy I went with was my boyfriend who I met working at Walgreens. He and I both worked there and ended up dating for about a year and a half. He actually went to a different high school and was a year younger than me. The dance was actually pretty boring and we didn't end up staying very long. He was a "bad boy" who I regret ever dating. However, in dating him, I learned exactly what I didn't want in my next relationship. :-)

So there are my embarrassing high school dance photos. :-) I hope you'll all join me and share some of your high school dance photos, or any photos from your past that you'd like to share.

Throw-back Thursday: 3 Year Old Me

Throw-back Thursday: KC Chiefs Football Edition

Welcome to another week of "Throw-back Thursday"!

Since football season is just getting started, I thought I'd share a few pictures of Jake and I at some of the Chiefs games we've been to in the last few years.

Let me start by saying, we live in St. Louis, however Jake was born in Kansas City and has family there so he was and always has been a Chiefs fan. He moved to St. Louis when he was 2, so he definitely grew up here and has really only known living in St. Louis, yet he's a Chiefs/Royals fan! Go figure.

For his 18th birthday (2003), I surprised him with a little party at my parent's house and invited some of our friends and family. I also surprised him with his first ever Kansas City Chiefs game tickets. He's been hooked ever since. I so wish we had a picture from that game, but unfortunately we don't.  It was a cold, late December, Sunday game. The last game of regular season. :-)

The next game we went to was in October, 2006 against the 49ers.

We also went to another game in 2006, when the Chiefs came to St. Louis to play the Rams. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures from this game.

The following year we went to a pre-season game when the Chiefs came to the Rams stadium here in St. Louis.

And in November of that same year, (2007) we saw the Chiefs play again, but this game was in KC against the Broncos. BTW, it's a lot more fun to see them play in KC.

In 2010, we went to the Chiefs home opener in September!

In November of that same year, I surprised Jake with tickets to another game. I had some of his family in on the secret too and we tail-gated for the first time!

On top of these games, Jake's been to a few without me, including a play-off game in 2010 and most recently, a game he went to just last year with some of his family!

Next month, we're excited to be heading to Kansas City for another Chiefs home opener with the Stanfields! They are playing the Dallas Cowboys and our good friends Chris and Holly are Cowboys fans! It should be such a fun game since I grew up loving the Cowboys, (back when I had a huge crush on Troy Aikman)!

So now it's your turn. Do you have any fun football memories, or just a fun memory you'd like to share? Be sure and link up your Throw-back Thursday post here. I'd love to read about your fun memories.

Throw-back Thursday: Swimming with Dolphins in 2000

Welcome back to another week of Throw-back Thursday!

After our dolphin cruise in Gulf Shores a couple weeks ago, I thought it would be fun to share a picture from when I swam with dolphins back in 2000. My BFF Carley graduated from high school that year, and her mom took her and I on a trip to Disney World as a gift to her for graduation! It was an amazing trip!

One of the things we did while in Orlando, was visit Discovery Cove. It was by far, one of the coolest places I've ever been! They had pools to swim with Sting Ray, Tropical Fish, and places to feed Tropical Birds. They also had a separate area where you could swim with Dolphins!

Since I was a young girl, dolphins have been my favorite animal. (I even have 2 dolphins tattooed on my back. You can read about that here.) Here in the mid-west, we don't get to see dolphins, so this was my first experience ever even seeing them in person. To say I was excited would have been an understatement. I may or may not have shed a tear or 2 of excitement when I first saw them swimming in the water! It was an experience I will never forget and hope to someday do again.

We were able to ride on their back, dance with them, watch them eat and do tricks and we even got to give them a kiss. ♥

Now it's your turn! Do you have any old pictures from your past that you'd like to share? I'd love for you to link up with me and add the button above to your #tbt post!

Throw-back Thursday: My First Trip to the Beach

Welcome back to this weeks Throw-back Thursday Link-Up!

Since we're at the beach this week and it's Jackson's first trip to the beach, I thought I would share a couple pictures of my first trip to the beach in 1991! My BFF Carley, and her mom took me along on their Florida Vacation that year. We went to visit her Aunt and Uncle in Melbourne, FL and we went to Cocoa Beach! It was so much fun! We also spent a few days at Disney World that trip as well.

My first trip to the beach!

Now it's your turn! Do you have any old beach pictures, or any pictures from your past that you'd like to share? I'd love for you to link up with me and add the button above to your #tbt post!

Throw-back Thursday - Kindergarten School Picture

Thanks for stopping by for another week of Throw-back Thursday!

With all the kids going back to school this month, I thought it would be fun to share my school picture from Kindergarten. :-) I don't remember a lot from Kindergarten, but I do remember liking it and making a good friend named Sarah that I lived down the street from. :-) We spent a lot of time together playing until my family moved when I was in second grade.

Do you have any school pictures you'd like to share, or a picture from your past? Be sure and link it up here and place the "Throw-back Thursday" button on your post. I look forward to seeing your Throw-back Thursday pictures.

Throw-back Thursday - Beautiful Bonnets

Welcome back to another week of Throw-back Thursday!

I shared this story on my blog several years ago when it was primarily a scrapbooking blog. You can check it out here, but I thought I'd share it again for new readers and because I love it so much.

A few years back, as my sister and I were making a scrapbook for my Mom's 50th birthday, I ran across a picture of her from her first Easter. When I saw it, I thought how much it looked like a picture of me from my first Easter. So I pulled them both out and did a side by side comparison and couldn't believe how cool it was that we were dressed so similar.

Our outfits are not the same, but oh so similar. It wasn't on purpose either that we were dressed so similarly. Just a coincidence. I love that I have these pictures!

Now its your turn. I can't wait to read your Throw-back Thursday posts!

Throw-back Thursday: A Year in Review {2011}

As I've said in previous posts, before I got pregnant with Jackson, I used to scrapbook all the time. This blog actually started out as a scrapbooking blog. Then once I got pregnant and then had Jackson, my time for scrapbooking diminished greatly.

I've started Project Life for 2012 and 2013, but didn't scrapbook anything for 2011, other than the pregnancy album I made through shutterfly.com. So when I saw Rebecca's (Simple as That Blog) Monthly Memories pages, I really wanted to try making monthly pages to have something to look back on for 2011. I thought this would be an easy and quick way to get my 2011 pictures organized and in an album of some sort.

So I spent some time this week going through my pictures for 2011 and making monthly pages using Rebecca's monthly pages as a guideline. I used picmonkey to make my pages using their collage templates. I tweaked a template to fit the amount of pictures I wanted on a page. I'm not sure if I'll print these out, (Rebecca uses Costco to print hers and then puts them into a 12x12 binder) or have them printed in a book using mixbook.com or shutterfly.com.

I would really recommend this method for anyone that wants a nice, easy and quick way to organize a years worth of pictures into an album you can look back on one day.

Here are all 12 of my pages for 2011. It was so fun making them and going through all my 2011 photos. :-)

Now it's your turn. Link up your Throw-back Thursday posts below.

Throw-Back Thursday Link-Up

Welcome to the Throw-back Thursday Link-Up.

This past Friday, Jake and I had our "dating anniversary". We started dating July 5th, 2001! So crazy that we've been together for 12 years! So I thought I'd share a photo from our first year together... way back in 2001.

To give a little more detail on how we got together, I was working at a local grocery store at the time and actually had been dating a co-worker of mine for a few months. It wasn't real serious and he was going to school about 2 hours away, so we didn't see each other a lot. That summer, he went away to Basic Training camp and while he was gone, Jake and I spent more and more time together. Jake and I had the same friends and we went to church together. We had known each other for years and basically grew up together. Several of our friends were dating and they were all trying to get us together.

So needless to say, the boyfriend I had earlier that year, quickly became my ex-boyfriend. I didn't waste anytime letting Jake know that my dating status had gone from "in a relationship" to "single". That night, He and I went to play mini golf with my sister and her boyfriend (who is now her husband) and Jake asked me to be his girlfriend there. ♥

Now it's your turn. Share a photo or a fun story from the past! Can't wait to read all about it.

Throw-back Thursday - 5th Grade School Photo

Welcome to the Throw-back Thursday Link-Up!

Ugh, this is probably one of my most embarrassing photos. It was 5th grade and for whatever reason I wore this hat in my school picture. Ha! Too funny!

( Sorry for the poor quality. This is a picture of a picture, so thats why there's a bit of a glare.)

So now its your turn to link up and share a throwback picture or story of your own.

Throw-back Thursday/Share Your Wedding Details

Today I'm hosting my usual "Throw-back Thursday" Link-up and combining it with Holly and Melanie's "Share Your Wedding Details" Link-up. I hope you'll all join us!!

and

 button

 The questions are:

1.) Location: We got married in the church that we attend. Its actually where we met, so the location had some sentimental value as well.

2.) Colors: We had a beach themed wedding here in St. Louis because I really wanted to get married on the beach, but knew that so many of our close friends and family wouldn't be able to come. Our colors were aqua with a touch of pink in the flowers. The girls carried orchid leis down the aisle and then wore their leis after the ceremony and the guys wore orchid boutineers.

3.) Bridal Party: Our Bridal Party consisted of Jake's 2 brothers, Pat and Larry, as his "Best Men", my sister was my Matron of Honor and my close friend Carley was my Maid of Honor. My 2 cousins, Travis and Tyler, were groomsmen and Jake's nephew Brandon was a Junior Groomsman. My 2 cousins, Megan and Danielle, were bridesmaids and my cousin Lauren was a junior bridesmaid. We also had Jake's nieces as our flower girls.

4.) First Dance Song: The song for our first dance was Can't Take my Eyes off of You which is "Our Song". It became our song after watching 10 Things I Hate About You and Jake singing the song to me all the time. ♥

5.) Honeymoon: As a wedding present, Jake's Dad gave us a trip to Maui, Hawaii for our honeymoon. We were able to work with his travel agent and plan the trip before the wedding. It was such a beautiful and wonderful trip. I would love to be able to go back someday.

6.) What would you do differently: There are a couple things I would do differently. The main one is that I wouldn't have been so accommodating to others (family) on OUR special day. I also would have hired a better photographer. Ours was more "old school" and didn't do as good of a job as I would have liked.
