"Little Blue Truck" - A Cute Children's Book

Jackson LOVES books. Which makes this momma so happy. I'm not much of a reader, I never have been, but I definitely want my children to enjoy reading.

I introduced books to Jackson with the hope that he would love them and it started out that he would barely sit long enough for me to get through the first page of a small board book. But recently, he brings me books and sits on my lap and lets me read him several board books at a time. He even fell asleep while I read to him a couple of times at nap time last week.

We've recently made reading a part of our bedtime routine, which helps to settle Jackson down and get him ready for bed.

He got a few short board books for Christmas, but now that he's really enjoying being read to, I wanted to find some board books that were a little longer. Saturday night at Target I searched the children's books in hopes of finding a cute book for us to read together. I found this one called "Little Blue Truck" and really liked it. Its a bit longer than any of the board books he currently had and it taught a lot of animal sounds (which we are currently working on with Jackson) and a good lesson in helping and being kind to others. Its a really cute book.

The Lucky One

Last week I finished, "The Lucky One", by Nicholas Sparks. It was such a great book. I really, really loved it. So now I've read "Dear John", "The Last Song" and "The Lucky One" and they've all been great. Though I have to say "The Last Song" has been my favorite so far, followed closely by "The Lucky One" and then "Dear John".  Now, moving along with my Nicholas Sparks book reading, I picked up two more of his books last week. The first one is "True Believer", and then "True Believer's" sequel "At First Sight". So I've started "True Believer", but have only read a few short pages. I'll let you all know what I think.

The Last Song

So, I've never been much of a reader. Growing up I always hated when we had to read a book for school. I always wished that I liked to read, but just never did. But when I read through all 4 of the Twilight books in less than a month, and LOVED them, I started to enjoy reading more and decided to try and read more this year. So since I've loved all of the movies that were based on books by Nicholas Sparks, I thought his books would be a great place to start. I started reading Dear John earlier this year and really enjoyed it. I also saw the movie, and though it was good, I enjoyed the book much more. Then since The Last Song was being made into a movie, I thought I'd read that book next. I finished it last night and loved it!!!!! I mean LOVED it!!  It was such a moving story. There were parts of the book that made me laugh and parts that made me cry. I would definately recommend it! Now I really want to see the movie!! I hope it lives up to the book.

Last week I bought his book, The Lucky One, so I plan to start reading that next. I just heard today that they are making it into a movie and it will be released in 2012.

Twilight

As you all know by now, I'm a huge Twilight Fan. I am excited because I just finished Stephanie Meyer's newest addition to the Twilight Saga books, The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. It was such a good book and it gave us an insight into the Newborn vampires in Eclipse. I highly recommend reading it to any and all Twilight fans!!

I am also excited because Eclipse will be opening in theaters a week from tomorrow and I have tickets to the 11:59 show a week from today!!! I can't wait!!
