Funny Foto Friday - Jackson!

Jackson's always making me laugh, doing something funny or making a funny face. So I thought this might be a fun post to show off a couple funny out-takes from our little train photo shoot last Sunday evening! Enjoy, and Happy Friday!

Jackson was having so much fun Sunday evening. I find that I get the best pictures if I just kinda let him do his own thing. So this is him, making lots of noise and having a great time. :-) I love that if you look closely, you can see all four of his bottom little teeth. ♥

And here he is waving his arms up and down and acting silly, like he normally does. ☺ I wish this picture was clearer, :-(

Have a great weekend!

Embrace the Camera - Old School Style

I'm linking up with Emily at The Anderson Crew

Embrace the Camera is where you'll take a picture of YOU with your kids, spouse, friends, etc. The point of embrace the camera is to get in front of the camera and to document a bit of yourself.

I just recently bought an external hard drive to keep all my pictures organized and safe. Its kind of a big task going through all my pictures and organizing them.

While doing this, I ran across a file where I had a bunch of old scanned photos I had used for my Mom's scrapbook that my sister and I made for her when she turned 50. In this file were several family photos of my parents, my sister and I. So I thought I'd share some of them this week for embrace the camera.

The only stipulation is you can't laugh! Most of these are straight out of the 80's and 90's. Ha! A majority of these photos were taken at church on Easter Sunday. We have a tradition of taking a family picture on Easter Sunday. ☺

I'll start with this one. Its of my first Easter, I had just turned 1 and my sister wasn't born yet.

I believe this was a Christmas Photo.

This was Easter, not really sure what year though. Probably around 1986 or 1987.

My sister acting crazy and me looking at her... priceless. Don't you love our matching Easter dresses?

I remember I already had an Easter dress for this year, but saw this one and begged my mom to get it for me, and she did. ☺ Whoever took this picture, didn't do a very good job, Ha.

This was Easter, 2000 or 2001.

This was Easter 2004.

I believe this was Mother's Day 2004

 This was Father's Day 2006

So there's some humor for you this morning. LOL. Enjoy your Thursday!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

♥ I'm loving this Blemish Stick made by Burt's Bees. It works so well!

♥ I'm loving that Jackson has been sleeping all night the last three nights!! Sunday night he slept 12 whole glorious hours straight! And Monday was my day off so I was able to sleep uninterrupted all night and sleep in til 9 a.m.!!!  Thank you sweet Jackson!

♥ And while we're on the subject of Jackson, I'm absolutely loving him in these sweet footie jammies. They were actually my nephew Landon's and my sister passed them down to Jackson. They are so cute and Jackson looks adorable in them.

♥ I'm loving that we had a decent yard sale this past Saturday. Jake and I didn't make very much, but it was a beautiful morning, even a little cool, and we had fun with my sister and our friends Betsy and Carley, who also sold some things in the yard sale. They all made much more than we did, but like I said last week, we didn't really have much to sell.

♥ I'm loving that I got to help my sister make the invitations for Mason's 1st Birthday Party, which is in a little less than 2 weeks. They turned out so cute. Its an owl theme, just like his baby shower was.

♥ And as always, I'm loving my sweet Family.

A Couple Home Decorating Updates

Our house doesn't really have much of a hallway. But there is a decent sized wall leading into the hallway, from the dining room, that I had a couple frames with pictures from our wedding in.

This is what it looked like before.

And here it is now!

I just used the same frames, but hung them going up and down instead of side to side. I took the wedding pictures out and added pictures of Jackson. I have a ton of great pictures of Jackson and I wanted to be able to display them somehow and thought this would be a great way to do that. My Sister-in-Law had gotten me the Family Frame for my birthday, so I added pictures of our little family of 3 to it. Then the "S" I got from Hobby Lobby for 50% off (making it around $5). So this was a very inexpensive re-do on our little hallway wall.

Here's a close-up.

Then I also bought a clock for our living room over the weekend. I had been wanting something to fill this blank space for a while. I had gone back and forth on what I wanted to hang there, but I ultimately decided on a clock because we didn't have one for our living room and with feeding and nap-time schedules for Jackson, I thought a clock would be helpful. So I found this one at Wal-Mart and really liked it. It was the size and color I was looking for and I loved that it had several words on it like, Family and Love. It goes really well with our living room decor.

A close up of the clock.

So those were a couple of things that I got done over the weekend that I had been wanting to do for a while. Have you done any fun home updates lately?

Planes, TRAINS and Automobiles! [An 11 Month Photo Shoot with Jackson]

A few weeks ago, I took some pictures for my sweet friend Holly (From Where We Can Live Like Jack and Sally) and her family. I met up with them on Main Street, in Old Town St. Charles, MO.

On my way down there, I passed this cool old train station right along the Missouri river and thought to myself, I have to bring Jackson down here and take some fun pictures with the trains. So I had some free time yesterday evening, just as the sun was setting.

As hard as it is to get decent pictures of a constantly moving 11 month old, I think I got some pretty cute ones. :-)

This picture kills me. He looks so sweet and innocent. ♥

My Busy, Busy Boy!

One of my favorite times in the evening, is playtime with Jackson. After his dinner and bath, I'll usually let him play in his room for a little while and I'll sit there and play with him or sometimes I just sit back and watch him play and explore. Its so fascinating to watch him play and learn. He's a very busy boy these days. He's just learning and soaking it all in.

These pictures are all from one night in his room while he was just playing.

One of his new favorite things is to go into his closet on one side and then come out of the other door. Too funny. He'll do this over and over and over again if we let him.

Another new thing he likes to do is empty boxes, drawers, baskets... pretty much anything that has stuff in it.

Here he is emptying one of his dresser drawers. I quickly put a stop to this after taking this picture. I know, I'm not a very fun mom. LOL.

He also emptied his basket of stuffed animals this evening.

We have so much fun in the evenings. I look forward to it all day long when I'm at work.

There's nothing I'd rather be doing than spending time with my sweet Jackson. ☺
