Happy St. Patrick's Day!

An Irish Prayer...

May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,

For every tear, a smile,

For every care, a promise,

And a blessing in each trial.

For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,

For every sigh, a sweet song,

And an answer for each prayer.

Happy St. Patrick's Day. I hope you all have a great weekend!

This and That

One
A week ago Monday, while I was off work, I went to Avery's class in the morning and Jackson's class in the afternoon to read each class a story. Avery had "Family of the Month" in February so we had to make a poster for her and then the parent(s) can come into class and talk about their career, read a story or do a craft with the class. Some have even made special food with the class like pancakes, etc. I decided to bring my camera in and talk about being a photographer and then I read the kids, "My Mom Snaps." I also took a picture of the class and brought them all a "camera" color sheet. Avery was so excited for me to come to her class!!

Here's a picture of her poster that we made.

Then, that afternoon I went and read a story to Jackson's class. His teacher had sent out a sign-up sheet for parents to come read some books to the class. So since I was off last Monday and this coming Monday, I signed up for both. :-) Jackson loved that I was able to come and read to his class.

Two
I don't typically decorate for St. Patrick's Day, but just couldn't help myself this year. Ha. They are starting to have more and more cute decorations and I love a fun holiday to celebrate. I made the banner using green paper and my cricut. The rainbow garland is from World Market. The "hello" sign, "Happy St. Pats" sign and the green/gold shamrock are all from Target in the Dollar Spot. The gold candle holders are from The Dollar Tree. :-) I love having this buffet in my dining room to decorate for all the holidays. It's so much fun.

Three
I got the kids Easter outfits this past week and they are so cute. I got great deals from Old Navy. Now I just have to find something for Jake and I to wear. :-)

For Jackson
Shirt/Pants/Shoes

For Avery
Dress, (I decided to get Avery these cute booties, just in case it's still chilly here for Easter.)

Four
Jake took Jackson to Monster Jam this past Sunday afternoon and they had a great time. This was Jackson's first time to go and he loved it.

Five
While the boys were at Monster Jam, Avery and I rented the movie Leap. (You can watch the trailer here.) Some of the neighborhood kids were outside when we got home so Avery wanted to see if Ellie could come over and watch Leap with us. It was SUCH a cute movie. I think I loved it more than the girls did. I may have to even buy it, it was really cute!

Mother/Son Dance

Last Friday evening, Jackson and I went to the Mother/Son dance at his school. The school's "Dad's Club" puts it on and this was their 3rd year of sponsoring it. It was a lot of fun. They had dinner for us, a balloon drop, a photo booth, a smores station outside, cupcakes for dessert and dancing of course. Although, most of the evening consisted of the boys running around like crazy and us moms standing back and talking with one another. Ha. Nonetheless, it was a fun night out with Jackson. I LOVE any one-on-one time I get with either of my kiddos. It's priceless.

Jake is part of the Dad's club, so he was already up at school setting up, so I had my mom snap a picture of Jackson and I before we left.

Waiting for the balloons to drop!!
