My Mom and I

When I was making my mom's scrapbook this past winter, I ran across these two pictures, which I thought were very very cool. Its a picture of my mom, on Easter Sunday in a little dress and bonnet, in the year 1960. Then the next picture is of me on Easter Sunday, in a little dress and bonnet in the year 1982. The pictures are around 22 years apart. She and I were close to the same age when each of these pictures were taken and look so much alike. Soo cute! I feel very inspired to do a scrapbook layout using these two pictures. :-)

Cats at the Muny

Cats has been playing at the St. Louis Muny this week and a group of us went to see it last night. It was very very good. I'd never seen it before, but I loved all the dancing. I went with my MIL, her sister Deb, her brother's wife Emily, Emily's daughter Jen, my SIL Amie and two of her daughters Kyleigh and Alexis. We had a great time and the weather wasn't too hot either. Here are a few pictures...

Our 3 Year Wedding Anniversary

Today is mine and Jake's 3 year wedding anniversary. Its hard to believe its been 3 years already and even harder to believe we've actually been together for 9 years. We started dating on July 5th, 2001. We dated off and on during that time but never dated anyone else when we weren't together. And then 6 years later we got married!!! It was such a wonderful day for both of us. We were blessed to have all of our family and friends there. Here are a few pictures from our wedding day and I've scrapbooked our wedding as well, and all of those pages are in previous blog posts.

We had a beach themed wedding, and my dad built this for us to be married under. My mom decorated it. I really wanted to be married on the beach, but we have so many friends and family that wouldn't have been able to attend a wedding at the beach, so we just had a beach themed wedding in Missouri and we spent our honeymoon on the beach in Hawaii!!

My weekend - July 10th and 11th

This past weekend I spent a lot of time with my MIL and SIL's celebrating Amie's birthday (one of my SIL's) For each of our birthday's we always do a "Girl's Night Out" and make the person's birthday outing a surprise for that person. So for Amie's birthday this year we took her to a winery in Grafton, IL on Saturday night and then Sunday night we had tickets for the Muny. The winery was so fun. It wasn't your typical winery with the vineyards and all. It was more like a restaurant, but with wine tasting. I've never been much of a wine drinker because I've never really found a wine I've liked, but with being able to try them, that helped and we all found a wine we could agree on. It was called Apple Crisp and it was very good!!! We spent the evening eating and drinking wine on their patio and it was a lovely evening!! :-) Then Sunday evening we had tickets to see Titanic the musical at the St. Louis Muny. It was a very good show. Here are a few pictures from my weekend!!

The Last Song

So, I've never been much of a reader. Growing up I always hated when we had to read a book for school. I always wished that I liked to read, but just never did. But when I read through all 4 of the Twilight books in less than a month, and LOVED them, I started to enjoy reading more and decided to try and read more this year. So since I've loved all of the movies that were based on books by Nicholas Sparks, I thought his books would be a great place to start. I started reading Dear John earlier this year and really enjoyed it. I also saw the movie, and though it was good, I enjoyed the book much more. Then since The Last Song was being made into a movie, I thought I'd read that book next. I finished it last night and loved it!!!!! I mean LOVED it!!  It was such a moving story. There were parts of the book that made me laugh and parts that made me cry. I would definately recommend it! Now I really want to see the movie!! I hope it lives up to the book.

Last week I bought his book, The Lucky One, so I plan to start reading that next. I just heard today that they are making it into a movie and it will be released in 2012.

More Layouts for my Cousin Tyler's 16th Birthday Album

My mom, sister and I have been working on an album for my cousin's 16th b-day. We started about 3 weeks ago and have about 2 weeks to get it finished. Here are some more layouts that we worked on this weekend and last weekend. Thanks for looking.

4th of July Weekend!!

I had a GREAT 4th of July Weekend!! I hope all of you did also. I spent Fri. night and Sat. scrapbooking. We had a crop at church and my mom, sister and I worked the whole time on my cousin's 16th b-day book we're making for him. I will post pictures later today. Then Sunday we had a church picnic where we had BBQ and swam. It was so much fun. Unfortunately I forgot my camera battery that day, :-( but a friend of mine took these pictures of the pies I made for our BBQ. They were really fun to make. I got the idea from the Martha Stewart Magazine cover. ;-)

Cherry Pie

Then yesterday my husband and I were both off and it was also our 9 year anniversary of being a couple, we've only been married for almost 3 years, but we dated for 6 years before we got married. Hard to believe its been that long. :-) So we went to see Eclipse again and then attempted to fly kites at a park near our house. Unfortunately the wind would not cooperate, so the kite flying didn't last long. But we still had a fun day!!!
