Our Weekend

Our weekend was busy, but fun!

Friday night we just hung out at home. Jake made dinner and I got caught up on a couple of my shows I had DVR'd. I also watched "I Don't Know How She Does It", which ended up being pretty good.

Saturday I went shopping with Jackson and my Mother In Law. We went to Carters and loaded Jackson up on lots and lots of cute clothes. We also got him his Easter Outfit. Complete with matching shoes, hat and bibs! He's going to look so cute! I think the whole store was on sale! :-) Here's a picture of the pile of clothes we got him.

And here's his Easter Outfit, Hat, Bibs and Shoes to match!

Then Sunday we went to church, then went to a birthday party for our friend's 3 year old! It was robot themed and very cute! Holly did a great job as always.

Then after the party, Jake and I took Jackson and our dog Max for a nice long walk along the trail at Sunset Park. Our street dead ends into this park. The park and trail overlook the Missouri River. Its beautiful and the weather was perfect! It was Jackson's first time going for a walk outside. He was so relaxed. He even fell asleep towards the end.

I was off work today and I've just been cleaning and spending time with my sweet boy. It was a great weekend! As always I'm sad to see it end. Hope you all had a great weekend too!

Jackson is 18 Weeks Old!

Jackson is 18 weeks old and getting so big. He's sleeping in his crib now all night, only waking up once to eat. After he eats, he always goes right back to sleep in his crib. I lay him down in his crib (awake) and within a minute or two he's right back to sleep. He's such a good boy when it comes to sleeping. He usually goes to sleep between 8 and 9. This sleeping schedule is working out great for us. ☺

He's been spitting up quite a big lately. I thought adding rice cereal was going to do the trick, but it only seemed to ease up for a few days after starting the cereal and now its just progressively gotten worse and worse over the last couple weeks. I called the doctor again today because he's even been crying with the spitting up a little bit and the doctor said for me to try him on soy formula. So I bought a can to try this evening, but haven't had a chance to give it to him yet. He will start on that tomorrow and we'll see how it goes. He has a doctor appointment Friday afternoon, so I'll talk to the doctor again then to see how the soy formula is going and we'll go from there. I really hope it helps.

Other than that, he's doing really well. He gets a little crabby every now and again (probably from teething), but other than that he's mostly a happy baby! He smiles and laughs out loud all the time! He's such a cutie.

Here's his 18 week picture! All Smiles.

Happy Friday!!

Yay its Friday, and a 3 day weekend for me!

♥ We don't have a lot of plans for the weekend. Just a few things here and there. Friday nights are usually a night where we stay at home, cook dinner and watch a movie. I believe Jake is cooking some spaghetti and we may watch "I Don't Know How She Does It". I haven't heard any reviews on it, but it looked kinda cute.

♥ Tomorrow I may go to lunch and shopping with my Mother-in-Law (and of course Jackson). She works out by a big Carter's store and we've both been wanting to go in there. I've been to Carter's in the mall before, (and love the amount of cute boy clothes they have over many other kids clothing stores) but this is a big stand alone store. I'm hoping they have some good deals. Jackson is growing like a weed. I just had to go through his clothes again and pack away most of his 3-6 month clothes. He's now wearing mostly 6-9 month clothes and some 12 month clothes even! He's such a chunk and he's tall too.

I also hope to clean the house sometime tomorrow. Saturdays are usually my cleaning days. :-)

♥ Sunday we are going to church and then some friends of ours are having a birthday party for their son who turned 3 today. Looking forward to spending time with them. :-)

♥ Monday I'm off work and don't really have any plans. I may run a few errands that day, but thats about it.

So what kind of fun things are you doing this weekend??

Wednesday Loves and Pins

♥ I'm loving that I got Jackson's 3 month pictures taken finally! Here is a link to look at them. They turned out pretty cute considering he got tired and started crying when I put his clothes on. It was super hot in there so I can't say that I blame him, but I had several outfits I wanted to get his picture taken in and we only got one outfit on and only about 4 shots in it before he was D-O-N-E! Oh well, what shots she got of him in just his diaper turned out super cute.

♥ I'm loving that we're half way to the weekend and I have another 3 day weekend coming up! Yay!

♥ I'm loving that the sun is staying up longer these days. I leave work at 5:30 and during most of the winter I leave work in the dark. For the last couple weeks its still been light out when I've left. Of course its dark by the time I get home, but I still love that its light out when I leave work. ☺

♥ I'm loving that Chad Michael Murray is going to be on tonight's episode of One Tree Hill! I know I shouldn't love this show so much, but its a guilty pleasure. I'm going to miss it when its over after this season.

♥ And as always, I'm loving my wonderful and fabulous family!

This would be such a cute family picture.

I really want Jackson to be Carl from Up for Halloween after seeing this. Too cute!

I absolutely adore this bag and there is a tutorial on Pinterest on how to make it yourself. Wish I could sew!

 What a clever idea.

Super cute look for this spring/summer.

Pictures and a Video from my Phone

I don't really ever post the pictures I take with my phone, but I was scrolling through them and there were some pretty cute pictures on there. Of course, they're mostly of Jackson, ;-) So here goes...

Jackson blowing raspberries (his new fun thing he likes to do)

Jackson chillaxin on the couch watching t.v.

Jackson and his cousin Mason at Maw Maw and Papa's house.

Jackson playing in his new exersaucer.

Jackson all bundled up in his puppy dog hat one cold morning.

He fell asleep in his swing. Too cute!

Love this bib.

Hunter and Max sharing the doggy bed.

My Papa Reg at his retirement lunch we threw for him at church.

Max hiding under the table cause he didn't want to go in his kennel. ☺

Here's a video of Jackson blowing raspberries from just last night. (I have some other videos of Jackson on YouTube. You can view them from my youtube link on the top, right hand side of my sidebar.)

Living Room Re-Do and Ideas

When we moved into our house, (almost 5 years ago) I didn't really do a whole lot with the living room. I just left it kind of a plain and simple, which was okay for a while. But now I am getting kind of bored with it and wanted a change.

Before:

Since I hadn't really done much with the room, and the colors were very neutral, I figured I kind of had a blank canvas to work with, which is nice. I wanted to add some color to it to brighten it up a bit. So I started searching around on Pinterest (where else?) to get some ideas. Our sectional came with some toss pillows that were brown and a deep red, so thats kinda what the color scheme had been in there. However, one of our dogs had chewed a couple of the corners of the pillows, so needless to say they needed to be recovered. I found some fabric I liked at Hobby Lobby (I had a gift card, ☺) and asked my sister if she wouldn't mind using the fabric to recover the pillows I had. Her being the sweet sister that she is, said sure and even made a cute table runner for my entry table with the remaining left-over fabric. I would still like to either buy or have my sister make a few more toss pillows bringing out the blue and green in the patterned fabric I already have.

A close-up of the new pillows.

A close-up of the table runner my sister made.

Table runner. This pictures shows pretty well the colors in the fabric.

The table runner on my entry table.

I also wanted to add a gallery of frames to our main wall in the living room that only had 2 frames and a wall sconce on it (very boring). After seeing several ideas on Pinterest, I took the plunge and organized my frames and what I wanted to put in them. Then I tried arranging them on the floor, which didn't really work too well, but got the ball rolling. I then tried measuring it all out and finally started hammering away. I'm super happy with my gallery wall! Now I'd like to spray paint a few of the frames to match some of the colors in my toss pillows. I just want to add some color and since all the frames are black right now, a couple cans of spray paint should do the trick to adding some color. I got the sign at Hobby Lobby for 50% off! Can't beat a bargain like that. :-)

The pictures on the wall from left to right are of our engagement, wedding pregnancy and family. The top two smaller frames are prints I found online, one of family and one of "You are my Sunshine" (the song we sing to Jackson to calm him down). The numbers on the far right are my birthday, Jake's birthday, our anniversary and Jackson's birthday.

Then I ordered some cross sconces from Partylite about 1 1/2 ago that I never hung up. I decided to hang them finally and really like the way they look over our chair.

Then over the weekend I found this collage frame on sale at Michaels for half price, then they had a coupon where you got an additional 25% off. So I bought it since I had been wanting a collage frame for this wall. We used to have our engagement picture hanging on this wall, but since I used it for the gallery wall in the living room, I needed something else to go there. The collage frame is much larger than I guess I realized in the store. I'm not totally sure I love it here yet since its so big for this wall. But it is starting to grow on me. I filled it with pictures of our families (Parents, Grandparents, Brothers, Sisters and Nieces and Nephews and of course Jackson, ☺.

Now moving on to some ideas I've found to add to the room. The part of the wall between our t.v. and closet still needs something I feel like. I found this really cool sign on Pinterest and plan to order it, from the etsy store it originated from, in the near future.

Then I'd also like to add a few new touches to my entry table. I like picture frames sitting on it, but I'd like to add a few other things too (like a tray of some kind and some decorative vases and maybe a wooden "S") and probably get rid of the infinite reflections piece on top. I've just had it a while and am ready for something new. Here are a few entry tables I've found on Pinterest that I like.

I love the tray on this table.

I like the little framed sign on this table.

I like the addition of a small lamp and I like the framed "S".

I like the letters and the & sitting on this table.

So thats my long post about how I'm changing (still in the process) some things around in our living room. Every once in a while I just need a change and I thought our living room would be a great place since we didn't have much going on in there anyways.
