Last night, as I was getting ready for bed, I came in my room to find this...
They were all 4 pooped from playing outside yesterday. :-) It was a beautiful day so I let the dogs play most of the day outside in the back yard while I cleaned the house. Jake played in a golf tournament and then we had my family over that evening for my Grammy's 72nd birthday. Once everyone was gone Jake went to bed and the dogs followed him while I finished cleaning up and checked my e-mail and facebook for the day. When I was ready for bed, I went in our room to change into my pj's and found them all sleeping. :-) I was able to snap a quick picture. It was a great day and evening and this picture just topped it off! I feel so blessed!

First Prenatal Appointment
I had my 8 week pre-natal appointment yesterday and everything went great. It was my first visit to the Dr. since I found out I was pregnant. Jake and I had to fill out a long "family history" questionnaire and she went over all the things I should and shouldn't be doing/eating/drinking while I'm pregnant. They also did a pregnancy test and of course it came back positive. :-) She did an exam and said that I was right where I should be for being 8 weeks pregnant. She also prescribed an ultrasound for me for this coming week, just to make sure there's only one little peanut growing inside of me. Since I was on clomid, there's a slight increase in multiples so she just wants to make sure. While she was doing my exam, she said it only felt like one, but she wants me to have an ultrasound just to make sure. So I'll get to see my little peanut for the first time on Monday!! :-) My appt. is at 4:00 in the afternoon. I'm excited to get to see him/her.
My next Dr. appt. will be on April 12th, (my 30th birthday) and at that appt. we'll get to hear the heartbeat! So I'm super excited about that!
So I'll let you all know how the ultrasound goes on Monday and hopefully I'll get a picture or two to share with you guys. :-)
Hope you're all having a great weekend and enjoying some beautiful weather. Its sunny and 60 degrees here in St. Louis today! A perfect day for some Spring cleaning with the windows open.

8 Weeks
Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 8 weeks today.
Size of baby: Just over a 1/2 of an inch long, the size of a kidney bean.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I haven't actually weighed, but I'm still not showing. I doubt I've gained any baby weight yet.
Maternity Clothes: Not yet. But some of my pants are starting to fit a little tighter.
Gender: We should be able to find out sometime in May. I can't wait. :-)
Movement: Not yet, its still too early.
Food Cravings: None so far.
What I miss: Being able to feel normal, without always feeling nauseous.
Sleep: Sleeping just fine, in fact I can't seem to get enough sleep, no matter how much I sleep.
Symptoms: I feel nauseous pretty much all day long. I have a heightened sense of smell and most smells make the nauseous feeling even worse. I feel super tired all the time.
Best Moment this week: Feeling a little relief from nausea this past weekend.
What I am looking forward to: My first Dr. appt. on March 11th and not feeling nauseous anymore.

Its Friday Again...
Yay!! I've been looking forward to Friday all week. With being sick and tired most of this week, working through it all has not been fun. I did stay home Tuesday after waking up with a sore throat and sinus headache on top of feeling nauseous. But I've been trying to push through and go to work because I want to save all my time for AFTER the baby gets here. Needless to say, I will be sleeping in as late as possible tomorrow morning and I am so looking forward to it.
On the agenda for the weekend...
On the agenda for the weekend...
1. We have our bible study tonight over at my sister and bro.-in-law's house. We're going over chapter 5 of this book...
2. Tomorrow night we have a birthday dinner for my cousin's 19th birthday at this yummy restaurant...
3. Sunday we have church in the morning and then we don't really have any plans for the afternoon or evening, however something usually comes up so I'm sure we'll be doing something.
I hope you all have a great weekend!!

Morning Sickness Sucks!!!
I was really hoping I would be one of those lucky pregnant women who never got Morning Sickness.... unfortunately I wasn't. It started this past Wednesday, a day after I hit the six week mark, and it hasn't stopped since then. Its not only morning sickness, but more like "all day" sickness. Ugh. Fortunately for me, it hasn't been bad enough to where I've thrown up, but I pretty much feel nauseous off and on all day long. Nothing really seems to help either. I've tried, peanut butter crackers, toast, sprite and ginger root capsules. I've also tried mints, but they really only help while I have the mint in my mouth. Once its gone the sickness comes right back. I'm really praying this is short lived.

Baby Names and Nursery Themes
As young girls growing up, my sister and I often talked about what we'd name our kids and how we'd decorate their rooms and all the fun stuff that goes along with having a baby. Of course its all changed since then and the names and nursery themes I liked back then aren't the same as now, but I always had fun thinking about it and planning.
Jake and I have decided on a definite boy name, and have been pretty set on this name for quite some time now. Our boy name is, Jackson Thomas Smith (we're thinking we'll sometimes call him J.T. for short). :-) I love the name Jackson and Thomas was my Great-Grandfather's name. Jake also likes this name because his favorite Civil War General was Thomas Jackson, so its kind of a play on his name. Jake's initials are J.T.S. so they would have the same initials. "J.T." was what they sometimes called Jake's Grandfather (his name was John Testrake), so thats part of the reason we're thinking about using that as a nickname. Plus we have a nephew named Jack on Jake's side, and at family gatherings it might be kind of confusing to have a Jack and a Jackson.
When my sister was pregnant with Landon, 4 years ago, we spent many days baby shopping. While we were looking for bedding for Landon, I ran across a couple I liked. This is the one I really liked for a boy and I still love it and plan to use it if we have a boy.
If we have a girl, the names that we have picked out are... Rylee Elaine Smith and/or Haylee Renee Smith. If at some point we end up having 2 girls, these will be their names, but we haven't decided which one we'll use if this baby is a girl. We are spelling both names with the "lee" because Lee is my dad's middle name. Elaine is my Mother-in-Law's middle name and Renee is mine and my Mom's middle name. Haylee is what Jake's name was going to be if he would have been a girl, but probably spelled different :-)
I'm going back and forth on baby girl bedding. Back when we were shopping for Landon, I fell in love with this bedding...
However, I ran across this set a little while ago and I really like it too...

I just love the girly feel to this room. Pink and brown is one of my favorite color combinations and I absolutely LOVE the chandelier. So I think I'm leaning more towards this second nursery, but I haven't totally made up my mind yet.
So these are the names and nursery themes we have picked out, whether its a boy or a girl. We're looking forward to finding out the gender, hopefully sometime in May. I can't wait to start buying stuff and decorating their room.
