I'm a little late posting this, but Jackson turned 20 weeks old this past Thursday. I can't believe its already been 20 weeks!
*I had to take Jackson back to the Dr. again yesterday. He's sounded real congested again and coughing some, so I just wanted to make sure he didn't have an ear infection or anything more serious than a cold. The dr. said his lungs sounded fine and his oxygen was good. She said his right ear looked red, so she put him back on amoxicillin again. He's not good at taking medicine, so thats always fun. Hopefully this is the last time we have to go to the dr. for a while.
*He weighed 17 lbs. 6 ozs. yesterday at the Dr. He gained 3 ozs. this last week.
*He's started trying to help mommy hold his bottle when he eats now. He's doing pretty good at it, but still needs help keeping it where it needs to be. He holds his hands right where they should go. It probably won't be long and he'll be able to do this on his own.
*He loves touching his feet. It seems thats all he wants to do now. He also loves being down on the floor on his play-mat.
*We've now tried carrots and sweet potatoes. He seems to like them both very well. This past Thursday evening when I gave him carrots, he got excited just seeing the spoon. Every time I would go to give him another bite he would kick his feet and get so excited! He loves his food!
*He's really enjoying this warm weather we're having. Since he was born in October, he hasn't really gotten to be outside at all, but we've had some warm weather lately, (80 degrees yesterday) and we're trying to take advantage of it. He had his first trip to the park yesterday while I was off, (a post on that soon) and he really enjoyed being outside. I'm really looking forward to more days like that.

Happy Almost Weekend and Almost Spring!
I couldn't be more thankful that its Friday, and that I have a 3 day weekend coming up. With being sick most of this week, and Jackson having been sick last weekend, I could really just use some time to clean the house and relax a little.
I thought since I'm really looking forward to warm weather right now and Spring is just right around the corner, I'd leave you with some pretty spring pinterest finds! Enjoy.

The Flu Strikes Again
Sorry I've been missing in action the last couple days. Unfortunately, the stomach flu claimed another person... Me. :-(
Late Monday morning my stomach started hurting and by later that afternoon I started feeling achy. I went home from work an hour early and I'm so glad I did. It all went downhill from there. It lasted 2 days and my fever got up to 104 Tuesday night! It was a little scary actually. But it finally broke early Wednesday morning and I stayed home from work Wednesday to recoup. I'm feeling much better today, still a little tired, but much better than I was feeling the last few days.
Now I'm just praying noone else I know gets it. Its made its rounds through several of my family members and friends. Its HORRIBLE and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
This winter has been one of the worst for me and sickness. I will be so happy when the warm weather is finally here to stay! I'm so sick of one day its 40 degrees and the next its 70 degrees. Here's to hoping Spring is just around the corner.

Our Weekend of the Flu :-(
Our weekend was kind of crazy. It started Friday morning. My mom got to my house to watch Jackson while I went to work. When she got there, she said that my sister and my nephew Landon had been throwing up all night and Ashlee really needed her to come over and help her out with Mason (my sister's 4 month old) because she just didn't have the strength to take care of him. She thought it might be food poisoning since only her and Landon had it and they had eaten at the same place for lunch earlier that day. So since Jackson had a Dr. appointment for later that day and I was leaving work early for that, I told my mom to go ahead and go and I'd just take the whole day off.
So I spent the day Friday with Jackson, which was fun, as always. I took him to his Dr. appointment and ran to Babies R Us to pick up a few things. Later that evening we went downtown to The Old Spaghetti Factory for my cousin's 20th birthday dinner. We had a great time and great food and Jackson did so great. All the waitresses wanted to take him home with them, ☺
Then Saturday, I woke up bright and early to go to a big children's sale over in Illinois. We actually ended up going to 2 big kids sales that day! I got several outfits for Jackson for this summer and only spent around $26!!
Then we went to lunch and then to a few other stores. On our way to my sister's house (who was now feeling much better after having been sick the day before) Jackson threw up in his car seat. He had been just fine all day and I had even commented on how good he was being. He slept all thru Walmart!! My mom was in the back seat with him and she said "Oh he's spitting up, A LOT"!!!! I didn't realize how much it was til we got to my sisters and I saw it for myself. It was much more than spit up. I had to take his whole car seat apart and wash every piece of it. I wasn't sure what was wrong, but thought maybe it was from the shots he had gotten the day before, or from him falling asleep before we could burp him, or I thought it might be a reaction to the carrots he had eaten for the first time. I didn't really ever dream it was the flu.
A little later at my sister's, I was putting his car seat all back together again and my mom was feeding Jackson a bottle. After feeding him, he burped just fine and was sitting on my mom's lap, happy as can be when all of a sudden, he threw up again! It was like the whole bottle! I was so shocked to see this that I just froze. It went all over him and my mom! :-( It was a little scary seeing that much come out. So I cleaned him up and called the doctor's exchange line. The doctor said he thought it was probably just the flu bug and to give him pedialite throughout the evening and night. (I guess what my sister and nephew had was probably not food poisoning, but the flu. We must have all been exposed to it at some point.) He said if he kept that down, we could try formula in the morning. So thats what we did and thankfully, he didn't throw up any more than those 2 times. The weird thing was, he never ran a fever or even acted sick other than the throwing up and sleeping more than normal. He was happy and smiling all through it. So thats what made me think it wasn't the flu at first. I'm so glad he's better and keeping everything down now.
Sunday, we stayed home from church because of Jackson, and we just watched TV and I did some cleaning around the house.
Now its back to work today. Hope you all had a great weekend and I'm praying none of the rest of us get this stupid flu bug going around!!!

Jackson is 19 Weeks Old!
Jackson turned 19 weeks old this past Thursday!
He's started grabbing at his feet this last week and will now roll from his back to his belly. He doesn't like when he gets over on his belly. Though he knows how to roll back over, he doesn't, he just eventually starts crying til someone flips him back over again. :-)
He's just getting over the flu bug today. He came down with it yesterday afternoon. It was a little scary seeing him throw up that much. He's a "spitter upper," so I'm used to him spitting up quite frequently and sometimes a lot comes out, but this was like the whole bottle all at once. It spewed out like a river, even came through his nose, poor guy. I felt so bad for him. Thankfully it only happened twice and through it all he stayed happy and in a good mood. After the second time, I called the doctor to see what could possibly be wrong and the dr. said it was probably a little flu bug and to give him pedialite for the rest of the evening and night. Then I could try giving him a bottle in the morning if the pedialite stayed down. Thankfully it did, and he's now had 3 bottles today and they've all stayed down! Thank goodness. He's sleeping now and has slept a lot yesterday and today. Hopefully all this sleep is helping him get better.
He had a 4 month check up at the doctor on Friday. He weighed 17 pounds 3 ozs (75th percentile) and is 27 3/4 inches long (95th percentile). His doctor said he's probably going to be a pretty tall boy. We found out that the few dry patches he has on his skin are eczema. :-( So the doctor recommended we try some 1% hydrocortizone and I also got him some Aveeno eczema lotion. I used them both on him this morning after his bath and they seem to be helping. The doctor also said to keep him on the soy for a week and see how that does with his spitting up and if he's still spitting up after a week to call in and there are a couple other things we can try. We also got the green light to start him on baby foods. We started out with carrots yesterday and he seemed to like them. The doctor said to try the orange veggies first for 3 days each, then move to the green veggies. I haven't given him any today because of the flu. I think we'll probably skip that today and maybe try again tomorrow. Here's a few pictures of him eating his carrots.

Thursday Randoms
I don't have a lot to blog about today, but I thought I'd share a couple random things on this beautiful first day of March!
♥ Last night my Mother-in-Law made the Coconut Chicken recipe that I posted yesterday in my "Oh How Pinteresting Wednesday" post. It was sooo good! The sweet taste of the coconut was amazing. This is definitely a recipe we will be trying again soon.
♥ We started Jackson on Soy formula Monday night (after talking to his doctor) and so far, its making a pretty big difference. Of course we have to give it a few weeks, but so far I've noticed a definite improvement. Last night at my MIL's house, he played on a blanket on the floor for most of the evening without spitting up once!! Normally he would have spit up several times laying on his back. He's still spitting up on occasion, but its nowhere near the amount it had been and nowhere near as often. So here's to hoping we've figured out the problem and that he eventually grows out of it if it is a milk allergy.
♥ I've decided to continue on in the Daily Photo Challenge at fatmumslim.com. Here are the daily categories for March! I'll be posting my pictures on the "Photo A Day Challenge" page on the top right of my blog.
♥ And speaking of pictures, here are some that I took last night of Jackson in one of his new little whale outfits! He looks so cute in it!
