Throw-back Thursday - Old Time Photo Gone Bad

I'm sure you've all seen those Old Time Photo studios when you've been on vacation before. Maybe you've even had one taken before. I have to admit that I've been in a few Old Time Photos myself.

This one, in particular, was at my church for a fundraiser back in 2005. Jake and I decided to bring Libby along (we had just gotten her earlier that year). If dogs could talk, I'm pretty sure Libby would have had a few choice words for me. Ha.

Nonetheless, she looks awfully cute in that hat... me on the other hand, not so much. :-)

A Beautiful Afternoon

Last month we paid a little visit to the Missouri Botanical Garden. It's one of my all time favorite St. Louis attractions! The weather was perfect on the day we went and we had a great time. My mom, sister and my nephews joined Jackson and I. We had a picnic lunch in Forest Park and then spent the rest of the afternoon at the Garden.

The reason why I'm just getting around to posting about this is because I took a TON of pictures. The garden is a photographers dream. So many beautiful flowers, fountains, ponds, bridges and wildlife... its hard not to just snap away. I had to narrow the 275 pictures I took, down to just a few of my favorites. That turned into 95... still quite a few for a blog post. So I then had to narrow it down even more. :-) 

These first 3 pictures are from our picnic in Forest Park.

 After our picnic, we headed over to the MO Botanical Garden. Once in the garden, our first stop was at the Climatron. This is where all of the tropical flowers and plants are.

The Climatron drops you off into a "playroom" for kids. Our boys had a great time in here. There was a play kitchen, dress up clothes, a play garden area, a coloring area and a play store area.

After playing for a while in here, we headed outside to the Children's Garden. The Children's Garden is so much fun. (Even for adults, Ha!)

After spending a good amount of time in the Children's Garden, we walked over to the Japanese Garden, (My favorite part of the garden.)

There is a Koi Pond in the Japanese Garden and you can feed the fish.

These next 2 pictures are from the Chinese Garden.

After that, we just walked through the remainder of the garden, stopping at a fountain for the kids to play in. 

We had such a great afternoon at the garden! Until next time.

Jackson's 19 Month Post!

Jackson turned 19 months old on the 20th of May. (I'm just a little late in getting this posted.)

Jackson weighed 28.8 lbs. at the doctors office last week. I took him in for pink eye and he ended up having a double ear infection as well. He was given Augmentin for the infection, which a few days later caused a rash all over his body. After a second trip to the doctor that week, we discovered he's allergic to Penicillin, (which is in Augmentin). So the doctor gave him a dose of steroids and the rash is slowly but surely fading away. He's now on Azythromycin (Z-Pak) for the ear infection and his pink eye is gone.

Jackson has said a few more words this month. He now says "Ginkie" (Binkie), "mine", "bow bow" (rainbow), "Papa" is a big time favorite and "eww". He's also started waving hi and bye at people in the store or on the street. :-)

He tries to jump now and mimics a lot of what we do. He even mimics the dogs sometimes. Max runs around in a circle while he waits for us to open the back door to go outside. Jackson has started doing the same thing when he's in front of the back door. Its so cute. He also carries stuff around in his mouth like the dogs. Ha.

He goes through phases where he eats pretty good and then other times doesn't eat much of anything. He's really loving fruit snacks lately. I can buy myself around 10 minutes if I put him in his high chair with his juice and a little bag of fruit snacks. :-)

He absolutely LOVES to be outside. In fact, I don't know if there's anything he loves more than to be outside. He will throw a fit to go outside! Speaking of fit throwing, he's throwing them quite a bit more lately. Which is no fun at all! 

He has such a sweet side though and can be so cuddly when he wants to be. My nephew Landon fell down the other day outside and started crying and Jackson was so concerned for Landon. He was right there by him and checking to make sure he was okay and when my mom went over to get Landon up, Jackson looked up at her and fake cried. It was pretty funny and so sweet.

He has 16 teeth now!

All in all, he's doing great and we are, as always, having so much fun with him!
