Homes on Mackinac Island

I wanted to share some pictures I took of the beautiful homes on Mackinac Island. They didn't really fit in with any of my other posts, so I thought I'd do a separate post on just the homes. Most of these pictures are of private summer homes. But I also added in a few homes that have been turned into little inns or B&B's.

Many of them are Victorian Style and many of them are very big! The yards are kept immaculately and the flowers are just gorgeous. These are all just private homes (probably summer homes) on the island.

Then these homes have been turned into B&B's or hotels.

This is the Inn on Mackinac Island

There were smaller cottage style homes on the island as well and even some condo buildings, but even the condos were rather expensive.  There were a couple realty companies on Market Street that posted pictures and prices of some of the real estate on the island. Lets just say, these bigger homes are well over $1 million and even the smaller, one room (not one bedroom, but one room!) condo's were around $179,000. So real estate on the island is rather expensive, but beautiful nonetheless!

Happy Weekend!

With all our vacation posts, I've left out some really cute pictures of Jackson that I've taken this week and just wanted to share those with you all. So I thought I'd put a post together for you today, just sharing these pictures of Jackson that I've taken in the last week.

These first 2 were from Sunday, right before leaving for church. He was wearing some new overalls that I've had for a while, but he was still too little for. He looked so cute in them. ☺

Then Monday, after taking his weekly picture, I took a few more of him just playing in his room and in the living room. I really love this first one.

He's not too fond of playing in his exersaucer anymore, now that he's so mobile, but he does like playing under it. ☺ Silly baby.

He just loves playing with his toys and I love watching him.

Then here are some of my favorite instagram pictures from the past 2 weeks.

1. Jackson, the Monday after we got home from our trip. I was so happy to see him. Thankfully I was off that Monday and got to spend the whole day with him. ☺

2. Jackson playing with his new blocks.

3. Jackson looking at himself in the mirror on his exersaucer.

4. Some of Jackson's toys, all in a pile on the floor. This is how my floor looks most of the time these days.

5. A pretty picture of the sun that I took.

6. Max giving Hunter some love that I don't think Hunter really wanted. ;-)

7. and 8. Sometimes in the evenings, Jake will leave the front door open so Jackson can see outside while he waits for me to get home. These pictures were both right as I got home and saw my sweet boy waiting for me by the door. Coming home to that big smile, just makes my day!

9. Jackson in the car, holding on to the handle of his car seat, ha!

So those are just a few pictures from the past couple weeks, to catch you up. I hope you're all having a great weekend!!

Day Seven of our 5 Year Anniversary Trip

I'm linking up all of my Mackinac Island posts here! Check out her travel link up.
Let Birds Fly

Friday, July 13th, was our 7th and final full day of our trip.

If you missed them, here are days 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. ☺

We slept in that morning and then we had a 1:30 appt. to go para-sailing that day! Jake had never been, so I was excited to get to go with him. I don't have any pictures of us actually para-sailing, but here is what I do have.

The 2 people para-sailing in the bottom right hand picture are the couple that went right before us.

After para-sailing, we went back to the hotel, got dried off and went to have lunch at The Yankee Rebel Tavern.

After lunch we did some souvenir shopping. We also got some fudge to take back. There is literally a fudge shop every other store on Main Street. The locals there call the tourists, "fudgies" LOL. I never got tired of walked on Main Street and smelling that wonderful smell of fudge... heaven!

While out shopping, we stopped at the Mackinac Island Veterens Memorial on Market Street. It was really cool to see all the men and women from Mackinac Island that have served our country.

We also visited the McGulpin House, another historical house on the island and the old American Fur Company Store.

After shopping and visiting some of the historical places around the island, we went back and just hung out in our hotel room until dinner time. For dinner, we wanted to eat somewhere that had a patio right on the water, so we went to the Pink Pony, per a recommendation from the man working at the counter at the Main Street Inn where we were staying. It was a great meal with a beautiful view.

Filet Mignon!

After dinner, we went back to the hotel and spent the rest of the evening sitting out on the balcony, drinking wine and watching the people walk by.

Here is a picture of the Main Street Inn and Suites that night, all lit up.

The next morning, we got up and got our stuff together to head home.

Goodbye Mackinac Island!

On the drive home, we drove through several storms, but we got to see a pretty rainbow.

We had such a wonderful time!! I can't wait to go back someday.

I hope you all enjoyed these posts and all of our pictures. ☺
