West Palm Beach Vacation: Day 4

Day 4 of our vacation was spent at Lion Country Safari. I first heard about it from Katie Bower's blog, Bower Power. She and her family went there while on vacation earlier this year and it looked like so much fun. You can check out her blog post about it here.

We got up and drove there Tuesday morning. It was about an hour away from where we were staying. It was such a fun place to visit and I can't say enough great things about it. If you have kids, I highly recommend a visit here. They even have coupons on their website if you're looking for a discount.

We started our visit with the drive-thru safari which was SO very cool. I took an over-abundance of pictures so I apologize in advance. #sorrynotsorry There were so many different kinds of animals and it was so cool to see them close up. They were all free and walking around, sometimes right in front of your vehicle. All but the lions of course. ;-)

This park is so beautiful. It's like an oasis for these animals!

Zebra Crossing!

This little guy had a lot to say! Ha.

Giraffe Crossing!

After the drive-thru safari, we parked our cars and entered the park where we ate lunch, saw some more animals, rode a few little rides, fed the giraffes (my very favorite part), fed tropical birds and splashed around on the slides and splash pad.

My parents and nieces came along with us and all had such a great time!!

The kids loved the little rides.

We also fed some fish and Jake and my Dad played a short round of mini golf with the kids.

After golf, we fed the cutest little tropical birds which was so much fun.

The birds would fly all around and land right on your arm or even your head. Avery wasn't too sure whether she liked this or not. Ha.

Jackson thought it was pretty cool though.

After that, we walked around and saw a few more animals before making our way up to feed the giraffes!

Feeding the giraffes was the highlight for me. When I saw that you could do that here, I was sold on going for sure. I've wanted to feed a giraffe for a while now and it was so cool!! They're amazing animals and it was the coolest thing to be so close to them.

After feeding the giraffes, we headed over to the water slides, splash pad and Fun Slide. This is what the kids had been looking forward to the most and they had a great time!!

That evening, we had dinner at "The Islander Grill and Tiki Bar" which was inside the "Palm Beach Shores Resort and Vacation Villas." We sat outside by the pool and it was very nice. The food was good, but I wouldn't say it was amazing. It was a nice atmosphere though and we enjoyed our evening there.

It was a great day at the Lion Country Safari and a nice evening at the Islander Grill. It was probably my favorite day of our vacation!

West Palm Beach Vacation 2018: Days 2 & 3

Day 2 of our vacation was spent hosting a BBQ at our rental house for the family and close friends that were in town for the wedding. My Aunt and Uncle (who's Son had gotten married) came over, along with my other cousin (who's brother had gotten married) and his fiancé. We also had my Papa and our Pastor and his wife over as well. It was a fun little party. The kids swam most of the day and we just sat around and talked and had a great time.

Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures that day, but some of us did walk down to the beach together that evening and we took a couple pictures of all of us. They are far from "picture perfect" and pretty hilarious actually, but still worth sharing.

1, 2, 3... Jump!!!

The next day was Monday. We had a boat rental scheduled for 9 a.m. that morning through Get Wet Watersports. So we got up and headed out on the Intracoastal Waterway. It was a little cloudy and even rained on us a couple of times, but we made the best of it and had a fun time.

After the boat, we went back to the house and had lunch and did a little swimming in the pool.

We saw a lot of these little guys in the back yard, and everywhere we went.

That afternoon, my Dad and Jake had a Tee-Time, so while they were gone playing golf, the rest of us headed down to the beach!

While Jake and my dad were playing golf, they sent us this picture from the golf course. They said there were so many of these iguanas out on the golf course that it was crazy!

That evening, we ordered pizza from Romana's Pizza in Riviera Beach, FL and rented The Greatest Showman, because we haven't watched it a million times already. Ha! My niece Alexis hadn't seen it yet though, so it was fun to watch with her.

And that was a wrap for the first couple days of our trip. I'll have more posts from our vacation up next week! Have a great weekend!

West Palm Beach Vacation 2018: Day 1

Our first day of vacation started VERY early Saturday morning. We had to be at the airport early for a 6:15 flight to make it there with plenty of time to be at my cousin's wedding at 5:00 that evening. Unfortunately, our flight was delayed an hour due to an "undocumented dent" that they found on the plane after we had already boarded it. Thankfully there was a plane already there that we were able to board without too much trouble. The hour difference didn't keep us from making it to Florida with plenty of time to spare, but it was a little nerve-wracking there for a while.

Once we got into West Palm Beach, we got our luggage and took the shuttle over to get our rental car, which also took quite a long time. Afterwards, we grabbed a bite to eat and headed to the rental house. It was just as pictured... and it was perfect for us. The kids couldn't wait to get in the pool! It was raining all day long, but that didn't stop them from getting in the pool. Ha! They swam, ate dinner and watched a movie with our nieces, Kyleigh and Alexis, while we got ready and went to my cousin's wedding.

The wedding was beautiful. Even with the rain, it was a beautiful evening. It was a casual wedding at the Old School Square in Delray Beach, Florida. I'm so thankful I was able to attend and be a part of their special day!

Here are a few pictures that were posted on Facebook by their amazing photographer. Just gorgeous.

It was such a great night celebrating Travis and Annelisa!
