Easter Weekend

We had a wonderful Easter Weekend! I hope you all did as well.

It started Friday with our new doors being delivered. My Dad and Jake were both off work and got started on the job as soon as the doors were delivered. It took all day, but they got the doors in. As usual, it didn't go smoothly, but they got it done. Saturday my Dad finished up the trim work around the door on the inside and outside and put together our 4 new rocking chairs. I love the way it all came together!!

Saturday, we went to our community Easter Egg Hunt! The kids had a great time.

 

Saturday afternoon, we had our Easter celebration with Jake's side of the family at a park. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law rented a pavilion at a park near their house and it was such a fun time to spend the day outside. We BBQ'd, had a Egg Hunt, flew kites, played kick ball, blew bubbles and played on the playground. The weather was warm and sunny! It was a really fun day!

While we were at the park, Jackson learned to pump and swing by himself! So proud of our big boy! 

Then Sunday morning we got up and the kids found their baskets from the Easter Bunny, then we got ready and headed to church!

 

After church, we came home and had dinner with my family. We also put together a little scavenger hunt for the kids. At the end of the hunt, they each had a little basket of goodies from Maw Maw and Papa! My Aunt and Uncle also got them each a little gift. They blew bubbles after the scavenger hunt and jumped on the trampoline. It was such a fun day!!

I realized the other day that I never shared any pictures of Avery and I from the princess ball we went to at the end of February. I mentioned it here that we were going and had our outfits all ready, but then never shared any pictures. So here are a few I took of Avery with Rapunzel and Elsa and then one we had taken with Elsa and Anna while we were there.

Jackson is playing soccer again this Spring and is doing so well. It's so much fun watching him play!

Three

Avery has been potty training for the last few weeks and I think it might be safe to say, she's finally got it down. I'm so proud of her!

Four

Avery's 3rd birthday is at the end of this month and we told her if she potty trained, we'd get her a big-girl bed for her birthday. We decided to go the toddler bed route for now and we let her pick which one she wanted. :-) Here's what she picked and I can't wait to see her face when she sees it.

We also got her the bedding to match and a cute Frozen rug. Luckily, it matches her wall color, so we shouldn't have to paint (especially since we just painted her room a year ago when we moved in).  I did, however, look around on Pinterest to find some cute and easy ways to change up her room to make it more "frozen" themed. She has 4 frames in her room that have prints in them that I made from ideas on Pinterest. I plan on changing those out with some I'm working on that are Frozen themed. With a few minor changes, her room will be fit for a princess! Now I just pray the transition into a big-girl bed goes smoothly.

Avery's Tea Party Photo Session

I have had this little session planned for quite a while. I saw something similar on Pinterest and knew I wanted to try my own version when Avery got old enough. I bought the dress at the end of Summer last year and then got so busy with Fall photo sessions that I never got a chance to make this tea party session happen.

Fast forward to 2 weekends ago. The weather was beautiful and I just knew if I didn't do it then, it may never happen. So I got all the stuff together and took Avery to a local park here in St. Louis that I had scoped out the week before for the perfect setting. The sun wasn't shining that night like I had hoped, but the pictures still turned out to be beautiful.



Playing Catch Up

I've seriously gotten so bad at blogging, so here's a little catch up post.

This past Saturday night we had 3 of our neighborhood families over for a BBQ and it was so much fun. Jackson was SO excited that he was counting down the days til the "neivors" came over to his house. They play outside All THE TIME, but they haven't ever been over for dinner and to play inside before. Everyone had such a great time.

We registered Jackson for Kindergarten a couple weeks ago! I can't believe he's going to be in kindergarten already! He's so excited!

I took a few pictures of the kids for St. Patrick's Day this past week and they turned out so cute!!

The kids started swim lessons last Friday night in preparation of our pool opening this Summer. Our first class was a lot of fun!

I have been so far behind on printing the kids yearly picture books. So I got my act together and finished one for each of them. Now I'm only about a year behind. Ha. If you'd like to view these books in their entirety, you can view Jackson's here and Avery's here. :-) I used Mixbook again (just as I have every year) and I am always so pleased with them. I ordered the books and received them all in the same week with standard shipping.



I think that catches us up for now. :-)

We've had several little updates around the house lately. One being my sister made me these super cute café curtains and I just love them! They make me so happy when I see them! I picked out the fabric and everything, (with the help of my mom and sister) and then since I don't sew, my sister whipped them up for me. :-) They turned out so cute!

Two

We got a new mailbox over the weekend. Jake and my Dad put it in and it's so much nicer. We just need to add our street numbers and it will be all set. :-) It looks so much better than the old rusty, chippy one we had. It was probably original to the house and it was definitely time for it to go.

Three

I took down the Valentines Décor and added my Spring/Easter Décor. :-)

We got a new sectional for our upstairs living room and I really love it. :-) It's just the style and color I was looking for.

Five

The weather has been so wonderful for the last several days, so we spent a lot of time outside with our neighbors last weekend. I happened to get this quick picture of the boys all playing Sunday afternoon and it just makes me smile every time I see it. I absolutely adore our street and the wonderful neighborhood friends we've made. It's like a dream come true to live on a street with so many kids right around the same age as ours. The kids love playing together and all of us parents enjoy spending time together too. It is truly a blessing.

I ordered Avery an Elsa dress for our upcoming Pretty Princess Ball a week from tomorrow! It's going to be so much fun and we are both so excited! I also ordered a blue skirt to go with my Anna-Inspired outfit. It's going to be so much fun!

Jake had these pretty tulips sent to my work on Valentines Day and I'm loving having this beautiful pop of Spring color on my desk! Makes me so happy!

Three

This weekend is supposed to be amazing weather and I'm so happy to have this Spring-like weather in February!

Four

Jackson and Avery had Pajama Day at school yesterday and they both had so much fun. They got to wear their jammies and bring a stuffed animal and their classes made homemade pancakes. :-) Jackson's class even asked them to bring sleeping bags and pillows. It was so cute. Jackson did say that they didn't have to go to sleep though, ha.

Five

I saved the best for last! I found out last night, I'm going to be an aunt again!! My sister is pregnant with baby number 4 and I'm so excited!! After calling us last night, they posted this cute picture on Facebook!!
