Our Fun-filled Weekend

We had such a fun weekend! I have a lot of pictures to share, so this may be a pretty long post, ha!

♥ Friday night we went to dinner with family at one of our favorite restaurants, The Orient. It was yummy, as always! Then we went over to my Aunt and Uncle's house to see their new furniture and hang out. :-)

♥ Saturday, we did some housework/yard work and then went to these sweet twin girls 1 year birthday party. I can't believe they are 1 year old already.

And here they are in the cute little dresses and headbands we got them. They're so cute!

Ashlee and I dressed Jackson and Mason up in their cute matching Easter outfits for the party and of course we had to get a few pictures. :-)

Then Saturday evening, I went with all the girls on Jake's side of the family to see Princesses on Ice! It was soooo cute! I just love that kind of stuff. I can't wait til Jackson's a little older to take him to all this kind of fun stuff. Here are some pictures from our fun evening.

My sweet nieces Bella and Sophia. They were so excited to see Princesses on Ice for the first time.

Me, with all my nieces. Alexis, Kyleigh, Me, Bella and Sophia.

♥ Then Sunday we went to church and had lunch at my parents house. I snapped a couple of cute pictures of Jackson while we were there.

After lunch, we headed down to the Zoo. The weather was perfect and I couldn't wait to take Jackson for the first time. :-) He enjoyed being in his stroller outside. I don't think he really understood what he was looking at, but he loved being outside. Here are a bunch of pictures. :-)

Beautiful pink tulips.

♥ Then I was off work yesterday, so Jackson and I spent the day together at home. We did some cleaning and I packed away some of his winter clothes that he's grown out of and made room for some of the spring/summer clothes he's gotten lately. We also did some swinging and he fell asleep in his swing. :-)

So sweet. ♥

So that was our fun-filled weekend!! I hope you had a great weekend too!

Wednesday Loves and Pins!

♥ I'm absolutely loving this weather. I know I've said that the last week or two, but I really love Spring/Summer and I'm so happy Spring is here!!

♥ I'm loving that my tulips now have buds on them! I haven't had a chance to take a picture yet, but hopefully I'll get one tonight.

♥ I'm not loving that this stupid kidney stone started hurting yesterday afternoon, but what I am loving is that the Vicodin they prescribed me at the hospital, made the pain go away and I ended up going to sleep when Jackson did at 8 p.m. ☺

♥ I'm loving that I got to take Jackson outside over the weekend and swing him on our playground for the first time. He loved it!

♥ I'm loving that I got the stuff yesterday to make this centerpiece for my kitchen table. I already have a basket that looks different than this, but I think it will still be cute. I bought green shred and some pastel eggs to put in the basket. I hope to take some pictures of my Easter decorations soon too.

♥ And as always, I'm loving my super wonderful family. Especially during this whole kidney stone craziness. I don't know what I'd do without them!

Cute!

Love this centerpiece.

This is such a cute idea for Easter dinner.

Love this dress for Easter.

What a beautiful kitchen!

Such a cute idea to upcycle mason jars.

Love this - a refinished dresser with the drawers taken out and baskets added instead.

Such a cute Easter centerpiece.

Kidney Stones and Jackson's 5 Months Old today!

Sunday evening I ended up in the Emergency Room with a Kidney Stone. OUCH!! This was my second kidney stone. The first kidney stone I had was a long time ago, back when I was in junior high.

It started while we were at my Aunt and Uncle's house Sunday evening. My mom, sister, my sister's 2 boys and Jackson and I had went to their house for a visit Sunday afternoon.

The pain came on gradually, so I didn't even suspect a kidney stone at first. My stomach started hurting while we were there and by the time we left my back and side were hurting pretty bad on the left side. While we were on our way home, the pain started becoming unbearable and when my sister stopped for gas I got out of the car to try and walk to see if that would help. Nothing was helping at this point and I was starting to really feel sick to my stomach. She and my mom thought it would probably be best if we went to the ER, suspecting it might be another kidney stone because of where the pain was.

On the way to the ER, my sister called my husband who had been golfing with my dad and BIL that day. Thankfully they were done and on their way home. They got to the ER right after we did. Once we were there, they checked me in and got me back to a room in about 20 minutes or so. It seemed like an eternity though. Once they got me back into a room the waiting took even longer. The nurse I was supposed to have, was busy, so I ended up with a nurse that liked to take her Gosh Darn Time!!

By this point I could not sit still. I was in SO much pain!! I honestly would take the 20 hours of labor and a C-Section I had with Jackson, as opposed to having a kidney stone!

Jake was in the room with me and about ready to go ask the nurse if he could help with anything to help move the process along, but she then showed up with the goods!! She put an IV in and then gave me the pain medicine through the IV to get it to work faster! It was working within 5 minutes and I had complete relief in probably 15 to 20 minutes. I still felt a little nauseous afterwards, but I never did throw up, Thank Goodness!

They did a scan of my kidney and a couple hours later the Dr. came in and finally told me I did in fact have a Kidney Stone. She said it had likely passed into my bladder by now since they had given me some fluids and I probably wouldn't feel anymore pain. They did prescribe me some Vicodin in case, but I only took it once, right before going to bed that night.

The Dr. said the cause of the stone was probably due to dehydration and that I needed to drink more fluids. I had been dehydrated with the stomach flu a couple weeks ago, so I'm thinking that possibly brought it on. So I'm now trying to drink more water. Unfortunately, I don't normally drink much throughout the day. I usually only drink something when I eat. Not good!

So yesterday I just spent the day resting. We had been at the hospital from around 6:30 til about 11:00. My muscles were a little sore the next day from being so tense and I was just tired from the pain medication. Thankfully I never felt any more pain, other than my stomach still not feeling too good.

Today, I'm feeling much better and am back to work. The Dr. at the ER just wanted me to follow up with my primary Dr. in the next couple days, so I need to call and make an appt. for that today.

Thankfully my parents were able to keep Jackson through all of this and we picked him up yesterday! He was too young to know what was going on and I am glad about that.

♥ On a lighter note, Jackson is 5 months old today! I can't believe he's 5 months old already. It seems like I just had him yesterday! Happy 5 month old birthday to my sweet sweet boy!

Jackson is 21 Weeks Old!

Jackson is 21 weeks this week. He'll be 5 months old in just3 more days! Its so hard to believe its been 5 months already.

Last night I gave him peas for the first time. He's loved the carrots and sweet potatoes he's had so far, but he didn't care too much for the peas. He ate them, but he made a face almost everytime he had a bite. We'll try them again tonight and see how they go.

He's still loving being on his back on the floor, playing on his play mat. He's still rolling from his back to his belly and still hasn't figured out how to get back onto his back. He seems to be liking tummy time a little more now though.

He's still sleeping good. Mostly going to bed at around 9, waking up at around 2 or 3 to eat, then going back to sleep and sleeping til 6 or 7. A couple nights this week he slept straight through the night! Mommy was pretty happy about that! He still takes about 3 naps during the day. He's a pretty great sleeper and I'm so thankful for that.

He's been stiffening out his legs a lot lately. He must have great leg and ab muscles. He keeps them stretched out for long periods of time too. You can see in his pictures for this week that his legs are all stiffened out... too funny!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!
