Jackson is 19 Weeks Old!

Jackson turned 19 weeks old this past Thursday!

He's started grabbing at his feet this last week and will now roll from his back to his belly. He doesn't like when he gets over on his belly. Though he knows how to roll back over, he doesn't, he just eventually starts crying til someone flips him back over again. :-)

He's just getting over the flu bug today. He came down with it yesterday afternoon. It was a little scary seeing him throw up that much. He's a "spitter upper," so I'm used to him spitting up quite frequently and sometimes a lot comes out, but this was like the whole bottle all at once. It spewed out like a river, even came through his nose, poor guy. I felt so bad for him. Thankfully it only happened twice and through it all he stayed happy and in a good mood. After the second time, I called the doctor to see what could possibly be wrong and the dr. said it was probably a little flu bug and to give him pedialite for the rest of the evening and night. Then I could try giving him a bottle in the morning if the pedialite stayed down. Thankfully it did, and he's now had 3 bottles today and they've all stayed down! Thank goodness. He's sleeping now and has slept a lot yesterday and today. Hopefully all this sleep is helping him get better.

He had a 4 month check up at the doctor on Friday. He weighed 17 pounds 3 ozs (75th percentile) and is 27 3/4 inches long (95th percentile). His doctor said he's probably going to be a pretty tall boy. We found out that  the few dry patches he has on his skin are eczema. :-( So the doctor recommended we try some 1% hydrocortizone and I also got him some Aveeno eczema lotion. I used them both on him this morning after his bath and they seem to be helping. The doctor also said to keep him on the soy for a week and see how that does with his spitting up and if he's still spitting up after a week to call in and there are a couple other things we can try. We also got the green light to start him on baby foods. We started out with carrots yesterday and he seemed to like them. The doctor said to try the orange veggies first for 3 days each, then move to the green veggies. I haven't given him any today because of the flu. I think we'll probably skip that today and maybe try again tomorrow. Here's a few pictures of him eating his carrots.

He had his mouth open, ready for more. :-)

Thursday Randoms

I don't have a lot to blog about today, but I thought I'd share a couple random things on this beautiful first day of March!

♥ Last night my Mother-in-Law made the Coconut Chicken recipe that I posted yesterday in my "Oh How Pinteresting Wednesday" post. It was sooo good! The sweet taste of the coconut was amazing. This is definitely a recipe we will be trying again soon.

♥ We started Jackson on Soy formula Monday night (after talking to his doctor) and so far, its making a pretty big difference. Of course we have to give it a few weeks, but so far I've noticed a definite improvement. Last night at my MIL's house, he played on a blanket on the floor for most of the evening without spitting up once!! Normally he would have spit up several times laying on his back. He's still spitting up on occasion, but its nowhere near the amount it had been and nowhere near as often. So here's to hoping we've figured out the problem and that he eventually grows out of it if it is a milk allergy.

♥ I've decided to continue on in the Daily Photo Challenge at fatmumslim.com. Here are the daily categories for March! I'll be posting my pictures on the "Photo A Day Challenge" page on the top right of my blog.

♥ And speaking of pictures, here are some that I took last night of Jackson in one of his new little whale outfits! He looks so cute in it!

My big boy trying to sit up!

I just adore his pretty blue eyes!

Thats all folks! I hope you're all enjoying this beautiful first day of March!

Wednesday Loves and Pins

♥ Today I'm loving this little video I took of Jackson last night. He loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and gets so excited when the Hot Dog Dance comes on at the end of every show. He just kicks his feet and moves his arms! Its so cute!

♥ I'm loving this beautiful weather we're having here in St. Louis! The high for today is 64 degrees!

♥ I'm loving that I get to pick up Jackson's 3 month pictures this Saturday. I can't wait to see them.

♥ I'm loving this line of whale stuff that I got for Jackson at Carters over the weekend.

♥ And as always, I'm loving my wonderful family!

Our Weekend

Our weekend was busy, but fun!

Friday night we just hung out at home. Jake made dinner and I got caught up on a couple of my shows I had DVR'd. I also watched "I Don't Know How She Does It", which ended up being pretty good.

Saturday I went shopping with Jackson and my Mother In Law. We went to Carters and loaded Jackson up on lots and lots of cute clothes. We also got him his Easter Outfit. Complete with matching shoes, hat and bibs! He's going to look so cute! I think the whole store was on sale! :-) Here's a picture of the pile of clothes we got him.

Then Sunday we went to church, then went to a birthday party for our friend's 3 year old! It was robot themed and very cute! Holly did a great job as always.

Then after the party, Jake and I took Jackson and our dog Max for a nice long walk along the trail at Sunset Park. Our street dead ends into this park. The park and trail overlook the Missouri River. Its beautiful and the weather was perfect! It was Jackson's first time going for a walk outside. He was so relaxed. He even fell asleep towards the end.

I was off work today and I've just been cleaning and spending time with my sweet boy. It was a great weekend! As always I'm sad to see it end. Hope you all had a great weekend too!

Jackson is 18 Weeks Old!

Jackson is 18 weeks old and getting so big. He's sleeping in his crib now all night, only waking up once to eat. After he eats, he always goes right back to sleep in his crib. I lay him down in his crib (awake) and within a minute or two he's right back to sleep. He's such a good boy when it comes to sleeping. He usually goes to sleep between 8 and 9. This sleeping schedule is working out great for us. ☺

He's been spitting up quite a big lately. I thought adding rice cereal was going to do the trick, but it only seemed to ease up for a few days after starting the cereal and now its just progressively gotten worse and worse over the last couple weeks. I called the doctor again today because he's even been crying with the spitting up a little bit and the doctor said for me to try him on soy formula. So I bought a can to try this evening, but haven't had a chance to give it to him yet. He will start on that tomorrow and we'll see how it goes. He has a doctor appointment Friday afternoon, so I'll talk to the doctor again then to see how the soy formula is going and we'll go from there. I really hope it helps.

Other than that, he's doing really well. He gets a little crabby every now and again (probably from teething), but other than that he's mostly a happy baby! He smiles and laughs out loud all the time! He's such a cutie.

Here's his 18 week picture! All Smiles.
