TGIF!

I'm so happy its the weekend!!

Tonight, Jake and I are going to the mall and to see a movie. We're planning to see Friends with Benefits. I really want to see the new Harry Potter movie, but Jake's not into Harry Potter, so we compromised on this. I love both Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis, so I'm hoping its good.

Tomorrow I'm probably going to clean around the house. Then I'm meeting up with my sister and a friend of ours for dinner at my sister's house. The menu for tomorrow night is cheese stuffed jumbo pasta shells with a red sauce. :-) Yummy. We also plan to make a dessert, but haven't decided on what yet.





Sunday we have church in the morning and then I'm not sure what we'll be doing the rest of the day. Jake mentioned he is probably playing golf, so I will probably hang out with my sister, mom and nephew that afternoon or I may just hang out at home. We shall see! :-)

Baby Bump Pictures

I thought it would be kind of fun to show how much my baby bump has changed since the beginning. Here are pictures from 6 weeks til now at 27 weeks! I'll have to redo them as I continue to grow, but here's what I have so far. I didn't take a weekly picture until around 16 weeks because I just wasn't showing all that much. But I did take a few here and there before 16 weeks.

27 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along: 27 Weeks.

Size of Baby: The baby is weighs almost 2 pounds now (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches from head to heal.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: At my 24 week Dr. appt. I had gained 18 pounds total. The baby was also measuring 2 weeks ahead.

Maternity Clothes: Yes, all maternity clothes.

Gender: Its a BOY!! Jackson Thomas Smith

Movement: Yes, he's moving around A LOT now, and I love it.

Food Cravings: Still no real food cravings. Just anything that sounds good at the time.

What I miss: Sleeping well.

Sleep: Not sleeping very well these days. Just can't seem to get comfortable. Tossing and turning a lot. I'm thinking about getting one of those pregnancy pillows. Have any of you tried one??

Symptoms: I'm still having this pain under my right ribs and around to my back. The chiropractor seems to think its the ligaments pulling, due to my ever expanding uterus. 

Best Moment this week: On Sunday, Jackson was very active and Jake, my mom, dad and my sister were all able to feel him move. They hadn't gotten to feel it before. I also got to order a couple pieces of furniture for Jackson's nursery on Monday.  

What I am looking forward to: Getting Jackson's room ready, my baby shower on Sept. 10th and getting to meet Jackson in Oct.

Baby Nursery Furniture

I'm excited to say, I ordered the first couple pieces of furniture for Jackson's nursery today!! 

The crib/changing table combo...

...and the glider/rocker.

The crib and glider should be delivered to the store between July 25th and July29th!! So in the next 2 weeks or so I'd like to get the furniture in the spare bedroom (soon to be nursery) cleaned out, get the room painted and a new ceiling fan hung. :-) I'm hoping my dad will have a little spare time to help out with all of that.

 I still need to buy a dresser and a little table to go next to the glider. My plan is to get those things bought and the nursery done, before my shower on Sept. 10th!! My mom bought the crib bedding set below and we plan to paint the room pretty much the same way they've painted this one...

I'll post pictures as we work on the room. :-)

Tattoo Link Up!

Ashley, at I Love You More Than Carrots, posted here about her new tattoo. She asked fellow bloggers to link up and show off their ink {and any meaning behind it}.

I actually have 2 tattoos and am planning to get a couple more. They are kind of addicting. ;-)

I got my first tattoo in 2004. A couple co-workers of mine were planning a visit to Iron Age. I had been wanting to get a tattoo, but would have never done it by myself. So the three of us went on a Sunday afternoon. For a very long time I've LOVED dolphins. So I got 2 dolphins on my lower back.

Here I am in the chair getting the tattoo. My mom and sister came along for moral support and to take a few pictures. :-)

 My "twins" as I lovingly call them. I love the vibrant aqua color and believe it or not, they are still very vibrant 7 years later.

Then, a year later in 2005, one of the same co-workers decided she'd like to get another tattoo. I was up for it, so one Saturday we met up at Iron Age again and got another tattoo. I got this one on the inside of my left ankle. Its a paw print to represent my LOVE for dogs. :-) I had just gotten Libby that spring and it will always remind me of her.

The next tattoo I plan to get is going to be a hummingbird in memory of my Grammy that recently passed away this past April. She loved hummingbirds and the weekend after she passed away, my cousin thought it would be cool if we all went and got a hummingbird tattoo together. Since my sister and I are pregnant, this tattoo will have to wait til after the babies' are born. I want it to be small and I'm not completely sure where I want to get it yet, but I know I'd like to get a hummingbird that looks like the one flying in this picture. I love the colors. I'd also like to get Grammy or her initials above or below it. 



So those are my tattoos and future tattoos. :-)

4 Years of Wedded Bliss

Four years ago today, I married the love of my life and best friend. I'm so excited that four years later we are expecting a precious baby boy into our lives. :-) The last four years have been great and I'm looking forward to many, many more.

Since we're saving all of our vacation time and money for the baby, we aren't doing anything too big for our anniversary this year. Jake is planning on fixing a Fillet Mignon dinner for the 2 of us and we're probably going to watch So You Think You Can Dance on TV. Maybe for our 5 year anniversary next year, we can take a nice relaxing trip somewhere tropical. :-)

26 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along: 26 Weeks.

Size of Baby: The baby is around 14 inches long, from head to heel. The length of an English Hothouse Cucumber. He weighs around a pound and two thirds.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: At my 24 week Dr. appt. I had gained 18 pounds total. The baby was also measuring 2 weeks ahead.

Maternity Clothes: Yes, all maternity pants and mostly maternity shirts.

Gender: Its a BOY!! Jackson Thomas Smith

Movement: Yes, he's moving around A LOT now, and I love it.

Food Cravings: Still no real food cravings. Just anything that sounds good at the time.

What I miss: All the little things I miss are so worth it, knowing we'll be meeting our little baby boy in just 3 more months. :-)

Sleep: Still sleeping okay. Just wish I could sleep later in the morning and didn't have to get up for work. But I felt like that even when I wasn't pregnant, lol.

Symptoms: I'm still having this pain under my right ribs. The chiropractor seems to have helped my back a lot, but this pain under my ribs has gotten worse. The chiropractor seems to think its the ligaments pulling due to my ever expanding uterus. Not sure there's much that can be done about that, other than giving birth. Unfortunately its not time for that yet.

Best Moment this week: Having some downtime at home. This summer has been super busy and I've needed some downtime.

What I am looking forward to: Getting Jackson's room ready, my baby shower on Sept. 10th and getting to meet Jackson in Oct.
