Project Life 2012 - Week 13

It's been a few weeks since I've worked on my 2012 Project Life Album. I thought I better make some time for it, so I worked on a page this week. ☺ Week 13 of 2012 was a busy week with lots of pictures. Usually those are hard for me, but I had a lot of fun with this one.☺

For this layout, I used the Bloom and Grow Mini Kit from Word Art World.

Finish the Sentence Link-Up

I'm linking up with my good friend Holly for her and Jake's "Finish the Sentence Link-Up".

button

1. I laughed so hard I cried when... I watched this video!! It is hysterical.

2. My high school... years are a distant memory and I am rather happy about that.

3. It really pisses me off... when people are cruel to animals or children.

4. In ten years... I will be 42! Yikes, that just seems crazy to think about.

5. If I could erase one thing... it would be dating a boyfriend I had in high school. He was a "bad boy" and I just wish I would have been a little smarter.

6. In 1999... I graduated high school and later that fall, started college at SIUE.

7. Honestly... I am starting to get baby fever again. ☺ I just wish I could have the baby without the pregnancy and delivery/c-section. Ha.

8. To me, Sushi... is not something I've ever tried and don't really think I'd like.

9. Someone really needs to invent... an easier and quicker way to lose weight that actually works.

10. The first time I drank alcohol... I don't really remember the first time, but I think it was just a wine cooler.

11. The one question I would ask God is... why Adam and Eve had to eat the dang fruit.

12. Lindsay Lohan...is sad. I feel bad for her. Hollywood had such a negative impact on her.

My New {Magnetic} Chalkboard!

My awesome sister, made me this super cute chalkboard for my birthday! I had been wanting to make a chalkboard for a long time, but just hadn't gotten around to it yet.

She found the frame at a thrift store for around $12 and just primed and painted it. Then she got a piece of sheet metal from Home Depot for around $10. She cut the sheet metal down to size and then primed it and painted it with chalkboard paint.

It is so cute! I absolutely love it. I made a little banner to go at the top, using my cricut. I hung the banner up using a couple magnets I had on our refrigerator. I would love to make or buy some other cute magnets to add to the chalkboard. I love that its magnetic.

I can't wait to decorate it for all the different holidays!

(P.S. Does anyone know a good way to clean a chalkboard. I've just been using a wet rag but is there a better way?)

Project Life - Week Fifteen

Here is my Project Life page for Week 15!

I used the A Spoonful of Sugar free kit by Libby Pritchett.

My Birthday Outing with the Smith Girls

This past Saturday, the Smith girls (My MIL and my 2 SIL's) took me out for my birthday. This is a tradition of ours. For each of our birthdays, we plan a day out/in that is a surprise for the birthday girl. Here are some of our past birthday parties/outings, here, here, here, here, and here.

This year, they surprised me by taking me to the Painted Zebra.

Its a really cool place where you can pick a piece of pottery (plate, cookie jar, picture frame, piggy bank, etc.) and paint it to your liking. They had different examples and many of them were soooo cute! It was hard to chose what you wanted to paint. I ended up choosing a plate and painted it like another plate I had seen there that had different holiday themes around it and in the middle, it said "Celebrate with the _______". So once you figured out what you wanted to paint, you got started drawing it all on with a pencil. They had some stencils you could use and all the paint brushes and paint you would need. After drawing it all on, you painted over it with the colored paints you wanted. It was so much fun and very nerve wracking too, Ha! Here are each of us with our "masterpieces". ☺

And here's a close up of my plate all finished. I am by no means an artist. (The colors are a little off because the paint is lighter than what it will look like after its been put in the kiln and glazed.) We pick them up on Wed. or Thurs., so I'll have to show you all the real finished product when I get it back. ☺

And here we are all finished with our projects.

After we were done here, we went to Dewey's Pizza for dinner. It was very good.

After dinner we went back to my MIL's house for drinks and we just sat and talked.

We had such a fun day together. I look forward to the next birthday!! :-)

Project Life 2013 - Week 14

Happy Friday everyone and Happy Birthday to me. :-) I'm celebrating my 4th - 29th birthday today, Ha! It seems like after I turned 30, I've just kinda lost track of how old I am. I had to figure it out in my head last week to see what age I was about to be.  I'm working today and then going out for Chinese tonight with my family. There's noone I'd rather be spending this day with than my wonderful family.  ☺

I got all caught up, and finished up this double layout for week 14. With Easter in there, I had an abundance of pictures I wanted to use and just couldn't seem to make it work with just one page. So I decided to make a double layout for this week. ☺

Here is a close-up of page 1

and a close-up of page 2

For this layout, I used the Flowers After the Rain Tiny Kit from Wishing Well Creations and a few things from Picmonkey.com.

Jackson, what does the chicken say?

Jackson is learning all the animal sounds and can say quite a few of them. He knows the sounds for the birdie, doggie, kitty, dinosaur, lion, pig, cow and our favorite sound... the chicken.

Here is a little video of him making the chicken sound and flapping his arms. ☺
