Maple Grove Block Party - Year Two

This was our second year for having our neighborhood block party and it was SO much fun!! Our city of Crestwood started a "Crestwood Night Out" where anyone that would like to have one, can sign up to have a block party. They drop of barricades for you and you can block off your street for the party! It's so much fun for the kids to be able to ride their bikes and scooters in the street! The city also sends over a police officer along with McGruff the Crime Dog and a Fire Truck stops by at some point in the evening as well. It's just such a great time. Our neighbor makes a flyer to invite everyone on our street to come and we all bring food and drinks to share.

This year we had a really awesome surprise because our block party happened to be on the same day as the Great Forest Park Balloon Race and the hot air balloons actually flew right over our street this year!! It was really amazing to see them filling up the sky around us. A few came right down close and even waved at us! It will be very hard to top that next year. Ha!

Five on Friday

Happy Friday!
Today I'm linking up with Christina for Five on Friday!

One
I can't believe one week from tomorrow, we'll be headed to the "Happiest Place on Earth"... Disneyland!!! To say we're all excited would be an understatement!

Two
I recently ordered these super cute bag tags from Oliver's Labels. Neither of the back-packs that I bought for the kids this year had a place to label their names on them, so I googled backpack tags and I found Oliver's Labels. They had a bunch of cute designs and shipped fast. They even had tag designs that went along with each of the kids backpack themes. So cute!! I'm glad I ordered them because there is a girl in Avery's class with the exact same backpack! It's great to know they won't get mixed up now.

Three
I recently finished reading "Small Great Things", by Jodi Picoult and it was SUCH a good book!! I highly recommend it. You can read the synopsis here.

Four
Last weekend, while Jake was gone for a golfing trip, I took the kids to one of may favorite places for ice-cream. It's called Cottleville Cookies and Cream and it's the cutest little shop. The kids loved it.

Five
Have a great weekend!
