A Daughter Is...

This is another layout for my mom's 50th B-day album. It is of pictures of my mom with my sister and I. We're getting closer and closer and it still feels like we have a lot left to do. December 19th is just 3 short weeks away. I know we'll get it done one way or another, but I am once again feeling a little overwelmed.

Twilight Ornament

I was thinking the other day that I needed to try to find a Twilight Ornament, so as I was looking online, I thought I could just make my own!! So here it is... Its just a plain glass ball ornament that I bought at Michaels. They came 6 in a box so I made several and gave them as gifts to all the Twilight fans in my family at Thanksgiving yesterday!! They all loved them. I took black and red scrapbook paper and cut it into strips. I rolled the strips of paper up on a pencil and put it into the glass ball. I tied ribbon to the top of the ornament and then using SCAL and the Twilight font, I cut out the word Twilight using vinyl and the cricut. I also used some red Stickles and drew little Swirlies all around the ornament to make it "sparkle" a little bit more. I'm happy with the way they turned out. I think I'm going to make myself 4 of them, one Twilight, one New Moon, one Eclipse and one Breaking Dawn!! Thanks for looking.

Practical Scrappers Stitching Challenge

The DT Challenge over at Practical Scrappers this week was to use stitching. Once again, since I am working on my mom's 50th b-day album, I used the stitching on a layout for her book. This layout is of me, when I was a baby. I don't have a sewing machine, so I drew on my stitching. Though, I would really like to try sewing on my layouts. Thanks for looking!!

Practical Scrappers Acrylic Paint Challenge

Practical Scrappers' challenge for the week was to use Acrylic paint on a layout or card. I used it on this layout for my mom's 50th b-day album. I kinda used it as snow on a majority of the layout and then I also used it to stamp the "S" on the tree next to the picture. My parents last name is Stoffel. This is a picture of my parents at their apartment in 1980, standing in front of their Christmas tree. My mom was actually pregnant with me! Thanks for looking.

2 more layouts for my mom's 50th b-day album.

Just a couple more layouts for my mom's ablum. My cricut expression came yesterday so while I'm off work today for Veteren's Day I thought I would try to get a couple layouts done. Along with my cricut, I got 2 sets of the cricut markers, so I thought I would try them out. I used them on both of these layouts. On this top layout I used them on the name Renee and on the bottom layout I used them on all the houses and on the title. They are really fun to use and make the letters and shapes look like they are shadowed. I wasn't sure that I would like using them, but I really do. TFL.

Practical Scrappers Challenge

These 2 layouts were used for the challenge over at Practical Scrappers. Our challenge was to use white core or color core cardstock. I use cardstock on almost every layout I do, so this was a great challenge for me. TFL.

New Years Eve Dinner at Church

This is the last layout of the day for me. I was able to get 4 more layouts done today for my mom's 50th B-day album. I'm so happy to have gotten so much done these past few days! This is a layout of our annual New Years Eve Dinner at our church. Every year we have a dinner on New Years Eve and anyone that would like to, can decorate a table. My mom decorates one every year and these are just a few pictures of some of the tables she's decorated. This tradition is so much fun!! Thanks for looking.

Cricut Expression

I just had to share a little bit of excitement! I've had my standard size cricut for close to 2 years now and use it constantly. I love it. But for a while now I've been wishing I had bought the expression so that I could cut larger shapes. Yesterday, I was finally able to order the expression!! I'm very excited and can't wait until it gets delivered and I can start using it!

Tri-Challenge Layout ~ Practical Scrappers, Stuck on U Sketches and Frosted Designs

Practical Scrappers is doing a tri-challenge this week with http://stuckonusketches.blogspot.com/ and http://www.frosteddesigns.blogspot.com/. The challenge was to use the newest sketch over at Stuck on U Sketches along with using 3 different pieces of ribbon and an owl. Since I'm working on my mom's 50th b-day album, I decided to incorporate all of it into a layout for her album. I'm extremely happy with the way it turned out! TFL.

A few more layouts for my mom's scrapbook.

Below are just a few layouts I was able to get done this weekend for my mom's 50th B-day album. I have been trying to work on it as much as possible because I have to have it done by December 18th. My sister is also working on it too, so hopefully we'll get it all done in time!! :-) I just love using these old pictures. They are so fun to look at. TFL.
