Five On Friday

Happy Friday!
Today I'm linking up with Christina, April and Natasha for Five on Friday!
Sorry for the little blogging hiatus. We've been so busy that I haven't had a chance to blog in a while. Hopefully I can get back in the groove next week. :-)

One
We had a WONDERFUL time at Disney World. We've been back for three weeks and we're already talking about our next trip. It was so much fun and we can't wait to go back! I've been working on a blog post to recap our trip. Hopefully I can get it finished up and posted next week.

Two
We are in full birthday party mode around here. Jackson turned 5 yesterday and his party is tomorrow! I can't believe my sweet boy is 5. He's officially a big kid now and I can't even believe it. We are having a Jake and the Neverland Pirates party at a nearby park! The weather is supposed to be sunny and 70 degrees. I'm thanking God for such perfect weather because it's so iffy this time of year. It should be a fun party for the kids. The pavilion is right next to the playground, so I imagine they'll spend the entire party running around and playing at the playground!
(A picture of Jackson on every birthday from the day he was born all the way til his 5th birthday yesterday.)

Three
Last night we had my sister and her family over for dinner and to carve pumpkins! It's been a tradition of ours since before we even had kids. And really, we say we do it for the kids now, but after about 5 minutes the kids lose interest and start playing while we carve the pumpkins. Ha. This year, my brother in law did a car for my 2 older nephews and my sister did Daniel Tiger for my youngest nephew. Jake carved a Jake and the Neverland Pirates pumpkin for Jackson and my brother in law helped me out and did the carving on Avery's pumpkin. She picked Doc McStuffins and it turned out so cute! She was really excited to see it all finished.

Four
My dad has been working the last 2 days on trying to get our backsplash finished in the kitchen. There is just a small section on the wall that needs to be finished and it still needs to be grouted, but I LOVE it so much!! The backsplash was one of those things we just kept putting off, but it really has made the kitchen look so great and it just finishes it perfectly. It's marble subway tile and I just love the way it looks with our Silestone countertops!! I also love the herringbone pattern. It makes it a little different and unique.

Five
I was off work this past Monday, so I took the kids to a nearby Farmer's Market to play at their little pumpkin patch. We had so much fun! I was also looking for a couple corn stalks and hay bails to decorate our front porch and they had them their, so now our front porch is looking so cute all decorated for Fall.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!

A Fun Fall Day at the Park

This past Sunday was a gorgeous day outside. Though it's technically still Summer, the temperature this past week has better reflected Fall. The high on Sunday was in the 70's and it was a perfect day for the park!

While it's football season, my sister, brother-in-law and my 2 nephews usually come over to our house after church so that the guys can watch football together... Go Chiefs! So while the guys watched football in the "man-cave" my sister and I took the kids to the park just down the street from us and of course I took along my camera. :-) I wanted to get a cute picture of Avery in the outfit she was wearing because I LOVE it and we also wanted to try and get a good picture of all 4 grand-kids for our parents. Thankfully we succeeded at both! :-)

Little Miss Cutie!

My princess and I. My little "prince" didn't want to get in a picture with me. :-(

My sister with her boys.

A cute picture of all 4 kiddos. :-) This is so rare because Jackson is a nightmare to try to get posed pictures of. We succeeded though with bribery! Ha. Whatever works right?

Church Harvest Fest

This past Sunday, our church had its annual Harvest Fest. It was a great evening and we all had a lot of fun. I think it was the first year in a few years that it didn't rain. We always have a huge bonfire, a hayride, tons of yummy food and a Halloween costume parade. Unfortunately my battery died halfway into the night, so I didn't get a lot of pictures. But I did get a few good ones. ☺

I hope you all have a great weekend!!

Trick or Treating

We had a very fun evening Trick or Treating with Jackson last night. My parents and my Sister and her family came over to go trick or treating with us. Jake and my dad made a fire in our driveway and while we took the kids out trick or treating, my parents passed out candy. It was a little cool so we just went down our street and partially down another street and then headed back home. Here are a few pictures from the evening. :-)

Jackson really liked riding in his new wagon! He sat nice and still the whole way.

Paw Paw pulling Jackson around in the wagon while we waited for my sister and her family to get there. :-)

Our nice warm fire.

Jackson and my nephew Mason in the wagon.

Landon dressed up as the Hulk (without his mask on). Jackson just loves Landon. :-)

Getting some candy at the first house we went to.

This house really goes all out every year!

All three boys in the wagon.

Our 2 failed attempts at getting a family picture. :-) Oh well.

I hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween!

Carving Pumpkins

Once a week, my sister's family, my family and my Papa all go over to my Parents' house for dinner. Last week, we had dinner and then carved pumpkins. My mom had picked up a pumpkin for each of the kids. Unfortunately, my sister's oldest son, Landon, slept through dinner and pumpkin carving. We tried waking him up, but he just wasn't having it. Ha. So my sister carved his pumpkin for him. He is being the Incredible Hulk for Halloween this year, so she carved him into Landon's pumpkin. Then my BIL, Jason, carved owls into Mason's pumpkin and I carved a Mickey Mouse head into Jackson's. :-) Here are a few pictures from the evening.

Fall Fun in the Leaves

This past weekend I thought it would be fun to rake up some leaves and let Jackson play in them. He wasn't very amused at first, but when I started throwing them up in the air, he changed his mind. ☺

Here are a few pictures I took of Jackson in the leaves.
