Valentines Day 2019

We had a great Valentines Day this year.

You can find Jackson's shirt here, and Avery's dress here.

We started it off with Avery's Valentines Day party at Dance Class on Tuesday, 2/12. She was able to bring Valentines treats for everyone so she brought Princess suckers and Valentines day cards for her class. She was so excited.

Then, Avery had her Valentines Day Party at school on 2/13. She had LOL Surprise Doll Valentines to pass out and she had a Mermaid Valentines Day box. So cute!

Jackson had his Valentines Day party at school on 2/14 and he passed out Jurassic World Valentines and he had a Rocket Ship Valentines Day box! Also, very cute!

The weather on Valentines Day was beautiful and around 60 degrees, so the kids played outside with the neighbors for a little while when we got home and my mom made a very yummy post roast for dinner!

Saturday afternoon Jake and I dropped the kids off at Grandma's house and he and I went to see a movie and to dinner and then met up with some friends afterwards for drinks. It was a great night out. ♥

Sunday morning we had a Valentines Day breakfast at church and we all passed out treats for everyone! We started this tradition last year and it was so much fun that we did it again this year! To say we have an over-abundance of candy and sweets at our house would be an understatement! Ugh, not great for the diet. Ha.

So that's how we celebrated Valentines Day this year! It was great! I hope you all had a wonderful Valentines Day as well. ♥

Daddy/Daughter Dance 2019

I thought, in honor of Valentines Day today, I'd post about the Daddy/Daughter Dance this past weekend!

The elementary school that Jackson goes to (and Avery will go to next year), had their first annual Daddy/Daughter Dance this past Friday night. The Dad's Club at the school sponsored it and since Jake is part of the Dad's club and was going to be there anyways, he decided to go ahead and buy tickets and take Avery (even though she doesn't technically go there yet.) They had such a great time together!

I found Avery's adorable dress at Carters. You can find it here. Her gold shoes are from Target and they're her favorite shoes at the moment because they're "golden." I found them on clearance at the end of last year. I curled her hair and we put just a touch of make-up on because she loves any reason to get dressed up and wear make-up. Ha. She's such a girly girl. Jake was sweet and wore a matching red tie. They looked so adorable together.

Our neighbor, Maria, was at the dance helping with the food and sent me this sweet video of Jake and Avery dancing to "My Girl." It was cuteness overload for sure!! I'm so glad she got it and sent it to me.

There was dinner, dancing, and a balloon drop at the end of the night. They also took a picture at the photo booth, which was adorable, and they decorated the little frame around it!! Avery was also very excited to hang out with her friend Hazel, who is in Jackson's class and her family is good friends with our family. ;-)

I'm so happy they had such a fun, first of many, Daddy/Daughter Dance.
Happy Valentines Day everyone!

Valentines Day 2018

We had a great Valentines Day this year. Before I get into how we celebrated, I want to first post a few of my favorites from the little Mini Valentines Day photo session the kids and I did a few weeks ago.

I took Valentines Day off work this year so that I could attend both the kids parties at school. We started out with heart-shaped toast and pancakes for breakfast. Then I went to Avery's school party that morning. It was really cute and the kids had a lot of fun. Avery had the cutest Princess Castle Box that I found as a kit at Target this year. She loved it and was very proud to take it to school. She had "Frozen" valentines to pass out to her class this year.

Then after Avery's party, I brought her home and fixed her lunch, then she stayed with MawMaw while I went up to Jackson's school for his party. They each got a cup full of treats along with several games, a craft and a color sheet. They had a great time!! Jackson's class decorated Valentines bags in class to collect their valentines day cards. Jackson had "Cars 3" Valentines for everyone!

After school, the kids played outside for a while and while they were outside, Cupid came to our house. He left a note on our front door to find 14 hearts around the house. Each heart was numbered and had a different letter on it. Once they found all of them, they put them in order to spell a message. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of this, but they found them all and the message was "Valentines Day!" For getting the message right, Cupid left them each a little gift. ;-) They had a lot of fun with the hunt.

Then after dinner we dropped the kids off at Grandma's house so that Jake and I could go to the Ash Wednesday service at church. Grandma (Jake's Mom) had a whole night of Valentines fun planned for them. They made heart-shaped brownies, drank milkshakes, watched a little bit of the Emoji movie and also put some little valentines day boxes and valentines together.

Jake and I celebrated this past Saturday with dinner, a little shopping and a movie, but Jake also had a bouquet of beautiful flowers sent to my office yesterday (he forgot I wasn't going to be at work, ha!) They are beautiful and I've enjoyed them at my desk today.

It was a great day for all of us! I love Valentines Day!

Valentines Day

The kids had their Valentines Day parties at school today, so I took the morning off so I could join them at school. They were so cute and had so much fun!

Jackson's party was first. Each child passed out their valentines 2 kids at a time. So it was quite the process but so cute to watch. Jackson had dinosaur valentines and an Avengers bucket to collect valentines in. :-)

Avery's party was at the end of class. They got to decorate sugar cookies. Most of the kids were just eating the icing right our of the container, Avery included. They should all have a nice sugar high. Ha! Avery's class also played a few games and had a couple little crafts. It was a super cute party. Avery had Frozen valentines and a Frozen mailbox to collect her valentines in. :-)

They both got a ton of cute valentines!

Later tonight we're grilling steaks for us and I plan to make heart shaped grilled cheese for the kids (per Jackson's request.) Should be a fun evening.

Happy Valentines Day everyone!

Such a Sweet Little Valentine

This past Sunday, I got together with my sister for a little Valentines Day photo session with my new baby nephew Emerson! We had so much fun! Surprisingly, he was very cooperative with all the ideas we had for him. :-) He was a great sport.

Here are a few of our favorites!

(My mom crocheted this "kisses" hat! Isn't it the cutest?)

(I just love his smile. This is probably my favorite from the entire session.)

(I just love his facial expression in this image. He's looking at us like, "you people". Ha)
