Since the weather has been nicer lately, this is where you can often find Jackson! He is loving having this basketball hoop that we got him for Christmas. He and many of the neighbor boys will often play a little game or shoot hoops on our street! They love it and I love that it gets Jackson outside as much as possible.

Easter 2019
We had a wonderful Easter Weekend! It started Saturday morning with the Crestwood Easter Egg Scramble! We met a few of our neighbors there and the kids got a bunch of eggs! It's our third year to go and it's always a fun time.
Then on Easter morning, the kids woke up and found their Easter baskets that the Easter Bunny had left for them. Our Easter Bunny hides their baskets so it's always fun to try and find them. Jackson's was hiding in the hall bathtub and Avery's was in the kitchen pantry.
After looking through their baskets to see what all they got, we got ready and went to church. Then after the service, they had an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids in the front yard of the church. Our kids always get so many goodies at Easter. The weather couldn't have been better. It was around 80 degrees and sunny all day! It was perfect.
After church, we went back to our house for a fish fry. My dad had caught so many fish in the last year and so we decided since we'd all be together on Easter, it would be a great day to fry it up. My dad's fish is always SO good! My sister made a carrot cake at my request which was also really good. The kids were able to play outside all day. The boys played a lot of basketball and rode bikes while the girls spent a lot of time in Avery's Frozen sleigh. It really was a great day!
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter.

Thirty-Eight
Last Friday I celebrated my 38th birthday. We didn't do anything too extravagant, but it was a relaxing and fun day spent with the people I love most.
I took the day off work and started the day getting the kids off to school. Then I had scheduled a facial for myself that morning at The Face & The Body. It was nice and relaxing and the perfect way to start off my birthday. I did a little shopping that morning as well before picking Avery up from school and then we met Jake for lunch at a local restaurant that we'd been wanting to try called The Barn.
Then Avery and I did a little more shopping for decorations for her birthday party before heading home. I did some photo editing while Avery played and then that evening, Jackson had a soccer game! I love watching him play so I was happy he had a game on my birthday!
After Jackson's soccer game, Jake and I and the kids met our neighbors across the street for dinner at Bartolino's. We hadn't been there before either, so it was fun to try two "new-to-us" restaurants that day, and both were very good!
It was such a nice day spent with my favorite people.

Spring Soccer 2019
Jackson and Avery both had their first soccer games of the Spring season this past Saturday and they both did SO great!!
Avery's "game" was first at 8 a.m. Her age group is more of a practice league so they just do some drills and then they play a scrimmage game. She was not super excited to play, but once we got there and she saw that several of her friends were playing on her team, she didn't hesitate to get out there and play. I had checked with a couple of the moms in her class and a few of our friends to see if their kids were playing and we coordinated to get them all on the same team. :-) She had so much fun and looked so cute in all of her pink.
Jackson's game was at 10:30 that morning. He was excited to be back on the soccer field! He got to play goalie for the first half of the game. It was his first time playing goalie and he was very excited to try it out. He did great and only let one ball in the goal. Then during the second half he scored his first goal of the season! He kicked the ball right over the goalies head and into the goal. It's always so much fun to watch him play! And bonus, he looked so cute in his new yellow cleats and his shirt even matches them this season!
We're looking forward to this Soccer season and watching both kids have fun playing!

Fairy Tale Tea with Cinderella
This past Sunday, Avery and I had tickets to a Fairy Tale Tea Party with Cinderella, Prince Charming and the Fairy Godmother at the St. Louis Magic House! It was so much fun and so cute!
They put on a little production of Cinderella while we sipped tea (or apple juice) and ate cute little treats. The Fairy Godmother narrated the story while Cinderella and Prince Charming acted it out. Then after the production, we were able to go down and meet each of the characters, get their autographs and take a picture with each of them. Avery LOVED it and kept saying afterwards how much she loved getting to meet Cinderella. Of course, this isn't her first time meeting Cinderella. We've been to Disney World and Disneyland and we've also been to a couple different local Disney Princess Balls, but Avery loves anything to do with the princesses, just like her mommy. ;-)
She wore her Cinderella dress and tiara and my mom got her these Cinderella shoes as an early birthday present to wear with her dress. Avery has been begging for these shoes since she saw them in the store a couple months ago because they have a heel! Avery was in heaven. I attempted to put her hair in a bun and I think for my first try, I did pretty good! Good thing I was paying attention when Avery was at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique last September.
