Jackson's 19 Month Post!

Jackson turned 19 months old on the 20th of May. (I'm just a little late in getting this posted.)

Jackson weighed 28.8 lbs. at the doctors office last week. I took him in for pink eye and he ended up having a double ear infection as well. He was given Augmentin for the infection, which a few days later caused a rash all over his body. After a second trip to the doctor that week, we discovered he's allergic to Penicillin, (which is in Augmentin). So the doctor gave him a dose of steroids and the rash is slowly but surely fading away. He's now on Azythromycin (Z-Pak) for the ear infection and his pink eye is gone.

Jackson has said a few more words this month. He now says "Ginkie" (Binkie), "mine", "bow bow" (rainbow), "Papa" is a big time favorite and "eww". He's also started waving hi and bye at people in the store or on the street. :-)

He tries to jump now and mimics a lot of what we do. He even mimics the dogs sometimes. Max runs around in a circle while he waits for us to open the back door to go outside. Jackson has started doing the same thing when he's in front of the back door. Its so cute. He also carries stuff around in his mouth like the dogs. Ha.

He goes through phases where he eats pretty good and then other times doesn't eat much of anything. He's really loving fruit snacks lately. I can buy myself around 10 minutes if I put him in his high chair with his juice and a little bag of fruit snacks. :-)

He absolutely LOVES to be outside. In fact, I don't know if there's anything he loves more than to be outside. He will throw a fit to go outside! Speaking of fit throwing, he's throwing them quite a bit more lately. Which is no fun at all!

He has such a sweet side though and can be so cuddly when he wants to be. My nephew Landon fell down the other day outside and started crying and Jackson was so concerned for Landon. He was right there by him and checking to make sure he was okay and when my mom went over to get Landon up, Jackson looked up at her and fake cried. It was pretty funny and so sweet.

He has 16 teeth now!

All in all, he's doing great and we are, as always, having so much fun with him!

5 on Friday

This has been one heck of a week to say the least. I am so happy its Friday! Here's to a much better weekend!

1.) I'm so happy to have my husband home again. As I said in a previous post, he found out his father passed away last Saturday night and has been in Phoenix, AZ with his brothers handling all the details. They got back yesterday afternoon and to say we were happy to have him home was an understatement. Jackson was laying his head on his daddy and I put my arm around Jake and said, "that's my daddy", to which Jackson pushed my arm away! Ha. So cute.

2.) I'm also happy to have our new computer up and running today! Our previous computer was a computer I got from work. It was running slow, but it was free so we just dealt with it. Well, a couple of weeks ago it finally bit the dust. I took it into work and unfortunately there was nothing they could do with it. It was dunzo! So we had to look into getting a new one. I'm loving the new computer and especially the speed!

3.) I'm so happy to be feeling better. Tuesday my ear started hurting. Ugh, just what I needed after having Jackson in the Dr. on Monday with a double ear infection and pink eye and my husband out of town. I ended up going to the Dr. myself to find out I had an ear infection and strep throat. To make matters worse, I noticed yesterday that Jackson had a rash all over his body. It turns out he's allergic to Penicillin. Great! He was taking Augmentin for his ear infection, which has Amoxicillin in it. He's had Amoxicillin before, but the Dr. said it doesn't always cause a rash the first few times they take it. So we got a new antibiotic for his ear infection and she said the rash should be gone in 3-5 days.

4.) I'm loving this cute picture I took of Jackson in our back yard yesterday (before I noticed the rash). We were getting some fresh air after being stuck inside most of the week.

5.) I'm loving these Sangria Bacardi drinks. After the week I've had, I may need to get some more of these. ;-)

Throw-back Thursday: Me at Jackson's Age

I'm going way back this Thursday, and sharing some pictures of me when I was around Jackson's age.

This picture is of me, taking a bath in the sink. :-) Don't you just love my cute little tan line?

This is a picture of my Grandma Stoffel (my Dad's mom) feeding me some sort of cake it looks like.

I believe this was at my 1st birthday party.

Me, at my Grammy and Papa's house (my Mom's parents) wearing my Grammy's glasses. :-)

Project Life 2013 - Week 20

My layout for Week 20!

It was fun to use some "girly colors" in this layout, since it was mostly about Mother's Day!

I used the Happy Day Mini Kit Freebie from Scotty Girl Design.

Asking for Prayers

Without going into too many details, Saturday night we got a phone call, letting us know that my husband's dad had passed away.

Late that evening, Jake and his 2 brothers drove from St. Louis, MO to Phoenix, AZ (where their dad lived) to take care of everything.

Its been an emotional and exhausting last couple of days for them and I just ask that you'll keep them in your prayers.

Jake wasn't super close with his dad, but nonetheless, it was his dad and its still hard.

Thanks so very much for your thoughts and prayers.
