5 on Friday

I'm really enjoying this 5 on Friday Link-Up. I hope you'll all join in!

1.) I took Jackson to a nearby park this past Wednesday evening and took my camera along for fun. I got a few really cute shots. :-)

2.) I'm so excited that my super sweet, and real life friend Holly and I are doing a "Vacation Dreaming" Link-Up party next Tuesday. We thought it was the perfect time of year for this link-up as so many of us are taking our summer vacations now or will be in the next month or so. I hope you'll all stop by and join us. You can post about your favorite vacation destination, favorite vacation memory, where you are planning your vacation for this summer or what your dream vacation would be. I can't wait to read your posts and get ideas for our next vacation!

3.) Yay for today being the first day of Summer!! I think Summer is probably my favorite season!
Printable found here.

4.) I think I am going to try and do some sandal shopping this weekend. I'm looking for some simple flat sandals, similar to these.
Sandals found here.

5.) And last but not least, how cute is this 4th of July wreath I found on Pinterest?? I think I'm going to have to try and make one similar.
 Wreath tutorial found here.

Have a GREAT weekend!!!

Throw-back Thursday/Share Your Wedding Details

Today I'm hosting my usual "Throw-back Thursday" Link-up and combining it with Holly and Melanie's "Share Your Wedding Details" Link-up. I hope you'll all join us!!

 The questions are:

1.) Location: We got married in the church that we attend. Its actually where we met, so the location had some sentimental value as well.

2.) Colors: We had a beach themed wedding here in St. Louis because I really wanted to get married on the beach, but knew that so many of our close friends and family wouldn't be able to come. Our colors were aqua with a touch of pink in the flowers. The girls carried orchid leis down the aisle and then wore their leis after the ceremony and the guys wore orchid boutineers.

3.) Bridal Party: Our Bridal Party consisted of Jake's 2 brothers, Pat and Larry, as his "Best Men", my sister was my Matron of Honor and my close friend Carley was my Maid of Honor. My 2 cousins, Travis and Tyler, were groomsmen and Jake's nephew Brandon was a Junior Groomsman. My 2 cousins, Megan and Danielle, were bridesmaids and my cousin Lauren was a junior bridesmaid. We also had Jake's nieces as our flower girls.

4.) First Dance Song: The song for our first dance was Can't Take my Eyes off of You which is "Our Song". It became our song after watching 10 Things I Hate About You and Jake singing the song to me all the time. ♥

5.) Honeymoon: As a wedding present, Jake's Dad gave us a trip to Maui, Hawaii for our honeymoon. We were able to work with his travel agent and plan the trip before the wedding. It was such a beautiful and wonderful trip. I would love to be able to go back someday.

6.) What would you do differently: There are a couple things I would do differently. The main one is that I wouldn't have been so accommodating to others (family) on OUR special day. I also would have hired a better photographer. Ours was more "old school" and didn't do as good of a job as I would have liked.

Jackson and his Daddy

I have to say, that at this stage in Jackson's life he is pretty much a "Momma's Boy". However, Jackson loves playing with his Dad. He loves to wrestle with his Daddy and play outside with him. I usually get home about an hour or so after Jake, so Jackson spends a good amount of one on one time with his Dad, which I think is great for them both. They are so cute together and I enjoy sitting back and watching them play.

I have a feeling that one day, these 2 will be inseparable. Which makes me so happy. ☺

Father's Day 2013

We had a great Father's Day Weekend celebrating so many wonderful men!!

Friday afternoon, Jake left for a Father's Day camping trip with our brother-in-law and some close friends of ours. So while he was gone Friday night and Saturday, Jackson and I did some shopping with my mom, sister and nephews.

Saturday evening, when the guys got back from their camping trip, we had dinner at my parents' house and we gave them all their Father's Day gifts. (Jackson and I got Jake an ipod for Father's Day and my mom, sister and I went together and got my dad a power tools set that he had been wanting.) I also made my dad and my brother in law a collage like I had made my mom and sister for Mother's Day.

Sunday we went to church, and then had lunch at my Aunt and Uncle's house. We celebrated my Papa Reg (my Mom's Dad), my Dad, my Uncle Mark, my Brother-In Law Jason and my husband Jake.

My sister and I with our Papa Reg.

I also made a collage for my Papa Reg.

My brother-in-law and his boys Landon and Mason.

Papa with his 3 grand-sons. (By the time we got to taking this picture, the boys were pretty much done.)

Jackson under the kitchen table with a Kleenex... oh this child is too funny.

That evening we went over to Jake's oldest brother's house to celebrate Father's day with Jake's family.

It was a great weekend spent with family.

5 of Friday

I'm linking up with Darci again this week for her 5 on Friday Link-Up!

1.) I'm excited to celebrate Father's Day this Sunday. I am so very blessed to have so many wonderful men in my life, particularly my Papa, my dad and my husband!

2.) I finally put my hummingbird feeder out last week and was able to get a picture of one on my feeder. I just love these adorably cute, little birds.

3.) I love this print. I would love to get one personalized and framed for our gallery wall in our living room.

4.) I just adore this smile! He is getting so big!

5.) I really need to go swimsuit shopping. I would like to find one similar to this.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Throw-back Thursday - Old Time Photo Gone Bad

Its finally Thursday, and you know what that means... its another edition of Throw-back Thursday! I hope you'll grab the button below and link up your Throw-back Thursday post today. :-)

I'm sure you've all seen those Old Time Photo studios when you've been on vacation before. Maybe you've even had one taken before. I have to admit that I've been in a few Old Time Photos myself.

This one, in particular, was at my church for a fundraiser back in 2005. Jake and I decided to bring Libby along (we had just gotten her earlier that year). If dogs could talk, I'm pretty sure Libby would have had a few choice words for me. Ha.

Nonetheless, she looks awfully cute in that hat... me on the other hand, not so much. :-)
